The Galaxy S3 has been Samsung’s flagship model for 2012. The device was supposed to get the update to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and that too pretty soon. Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S3 however have reasons to be distressed as the software upgrade has been delayed. Though this is not confirmed or officially announced by Samsung, the source of information can be considered to be quite authentic.
As of now Samsung have not made any mention about the release date of the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update for their Galaxy S3 models. Talk and expectations of the update arriving had gained momentum in the past few days, till this tweet from Sam Mobile drowns it all.
According to the tweet from Sam Mobile, Samsung has plans to include the Touchwiz feature in its Jelly Bean update. This feature gives additional user friendly functions to the interface. There is however certain issues in the inclusion of this feature into the software update that is causing the delay of the update being made available. The TouchWiz user interface, for those who are not aware, is something that is found on the Samsung Galaxy S4 models and runs over the base or core OS.
Samsung was supposed to roll out the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update for its Galaxy Note 2 sets also. Owners of the Galaxy 2 would also have to wait and bear this delay.
Talking about the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update, there is another Jelly Bean update that Verizon is coming out for their Samsung Galaxy S3 models. The tweet from Sam Mobile about the delayed launch is not for this Verizon update. Verizon have recently rolled out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS. This updated OS has many functionalities of the TouchWiz included in it.
