We all know Apple has an event lined up on the 10th of September and if anyone is still having doubts on this, the Cupertino giant has now begun sending out press invites for the same. The company is long rumored to be launching two new iPhone version on the specified date, the flagship iPhone 5S and the budget oriented iPhone 5C. These apart, there is also the all new iOS 7 that too will be hogging the limelight on the big day.
There has been some confusion as to whether it will be an iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 that Apple will be launching this fall. While an iPhone 6 would have been a much better offering, its iPhone 5S that Apple will eventually be launching. What this means is that the upcoming flagship iPhone will be much the same as the current iPhone 5 from a design point of view except for a few minor tweaks. However, an updated internals is almost a certainty, which means a faster processor along with perhaps a higher capacity RAM. An integrated fingerprint sensor could be a surprise package too, one that will add to the security of the smartphone.
In contrast, the iPhone 5C will be Apple’s low cost derivative of the iPhone, one that will be aimed at the emerging markets. With the iPhone 5C, Apple intends to wrest back the initiative it has lost out to other smartphone makers such as Samsung that has a smartphone offering at almost every price range. The iPhone 5C which will feature a plastic body to save costs will no doubt ensure Apple a footprint in the budget smartphone segment. Apple also intends to lure prospective customers with a range of color options for the iPhone 5C. Also, while still on colors, the iPhone 5S too is expected to come in a golden shade though its not know if such a color option will come at a price premium.
