Recent news has come out saying that the apple patent has finally won over Samsung which is now speculating rumors of US import ban on Samsung. This has hit the mobile devices sales and imports badly as the U.S trade panel has supported Apple Inc. This turned to be a high profile infringement case for both the smart phone giants. The US international trade commission also had its part to tell and stated that Korea’s Samsung digital devices had two of the apple’s patents on it and the ban is going to further ignite a spark in South Korea.
The trade commission also involved the checking of headphone jacks and also tested the touch screen operations. The panel decided to ban Samsung from importing, distributing or even promoting its devices in the United States. This in turn will definitely inflict the passionate relations with Korea. However there are no exact news on how many or what Samsung phones will be banned. Media reports in the US said that the exclusions have already been sent to Barack Obama and is given a 60 day time period to decide. If he fails to veto the order, then the decision will automatically be followed and implemented all across the United States.
The company spokes person Kristin Huguet stood up for the technology and innovations and said that Samsung was rejected as they copied a few patents and features from Apple products. However a U.S trade Representative Michael Froman revived the ban and stated the ill effects on the U.S economy and its consumers. However a study says that the patents are essential but in this context and they seem to be commercial and non essential. There are even reports of Apple lawyer William Lee saying that they would further go for newer Samsung phones if their injunction request was granted. Copying such patents by Samsung has also resulted in high financial losses for Apple. The appeals court is said to provide a written opinion on the case but has not declared the exact time period of the verdict.
