Tim Cook who is the chief executive officer of Apple Inc. has apologized to the customers of China after they suffered massive criticism from people. It is after two weeks of the arrogance and lacking customer service in China that the CEO of Apple has expressed his apology. It has been however revealed that the offense of the company was that they had not replaced the back covers of the iPhones after repairing the electronic inputs of iPhones at China.
The poor customer service criticism from the people of China became a scope for the international companies to ensure better service which were also blamed and criticized by China central Television, including Carrefour SA, Yum! Brands Inc and Volkswagen AG to name a few. The China television network showcased its programs on Apple’s poor customer service in more than 1 billion viewers, soon after Li Keqiang who had vowed to wash out consumer abuse was held and named as the chief. There were more than a dozen of articles in the daily state run newspaper regarding news of poisonous food, corruption in government, pollution in water and air, floating of thousands of dead pigs in the drinking water of Shanghai and more.
Shaun Rein who is the managing director of Shanghai’s China Market Research Group says that the state media has been taking too much pick on the foreign companies in the last few days. He adds that the government of the nation should ensure that the foreign organizations do treat the consumers of China with care and fairness. It should also be maintained that the companies maintain good customer support for the protection of people and not after it becomes an issue of politics.
The latest issue about the attack against Apple Inc. came almost five months after the sales of Japanese cars fell off as a result of territorial differences in relation to unoccupied islands. The china’s trade and commerce market has pledged to make their regulations for foreign companies more strong and in sync with customer’s rights, as stated after the report of 15 March was revealed in CCTV. On the other hand, the state administration for industry and commerce has called for the local authority with declaration for better supervision and warranty clauses in Apple’s policies.
According to a spokesman from the Apple Inc. who refused to be named, it is still not clear whether Apple broke any law or warranty policy. Talking about the apology from that came from Apple regarding customer support; Hong Lei who is the spokesman of China’s Foreign Ministry said in an event at Beijing that it is normal and commendable of Apple to opt for an apology to its Chinese consumers.
