The pop super diva Barbra Streisand has appeared on The Tonight Show and made a duet with the show’s host Jimmy Fallon. The entire show was actually dedicated to the singer, which is kind of a novelty, since not many episodes of The Tonight Show have been focused on only one guest. But for a legend like Barbra, Jimmy made an exception. The episode on the September 15 was entirely Barbra’s as she presented several songs from her upcoming album called Partners, due to be released in the 16th of September via Sony Music.
Although the star was obviously Barbra, Jimmy was not bad himself. He put on wigs and costumes and accompanied miss Streisand on a couple of songs. He looked really good in the Elvis impersonation or the cowboy hat. He introduced Barbra as “one of the biggest stars in the history of show business” and invited her to sit at his desk during the interview. This is the first time in 50 years Barbra Streisand has appeared on an American talk show, but she managed to be as classy as always, jokingly saying that she probably won’t be able to wait another five decades to appear on a show.
Barbra Streisand talked about her new album in which she reinterprets songs with famous music guest like Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel and even Elvis Presley. She also talked about hosting The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and how she hasn’t performed in over 27 years because of her stage fright.
At the end Barbra wrapped the night with a wonderful performance of Come Rain or Come Shine, which she sings along John Mayer on her new album. She will also appear on ABC’S GMA on September 16 and on The View on September 17.
