Buzz Aldrin developed a VR film about Mars exploration.

STATES CHRONICLE – Buzz Aldrin decided to make a VR film about journeys to Mars, taking viewers through a spectacular experience of a Martian mission Aldrin, an astronaut and the second man who had set foot on Martian soil, narrates the VR movie which is bound to offer people a novel experience. The movie is known as “Cycling Pathways to Mars, ” and it lasts only ten minutes.

Buzz Aldrin built a VR film to unveil his perspective about Mars exploration

Aldrin appears as a hologram, being captured as telling the story of how humans will reach the Red Planet. The plan also includes travel breaks on the moons of Mars and Earth. In this way, people who would be traveling from our planet to Mars will be able to use the satellites as pit stops. Scientists estimate that a trip to Mars would take approximately six months each way.

Buzz Aldrin hopes that this new film will boost the hope in people and will encourage the governments of the world to develop partnerships to design a single colonization plan for the Red Planet. He felt the need to comment on the never-ending competition between nations to discover whether Mars is a habitable planet. Aldrin claimed that governments of the world should understand that we do not have enough funds to do things all at once.

He intends to determine governments to work at a common exploration plan

He argued that specialists need to set the priorities because our planet does not afford to waste money on some ideas which will lead us nowhere. Buzz Aldrin noted that he believes that it is an amazing fact that Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX invested so much in space exploration. However, he thinks that governments, not companies, should provide all that is necessary to obtain favorable results when it comes to Mars exploration.

Aldrin asserted that even if he trusts Musk to be a good transportation expert, he is not very likely to make everyone believe that they will survive on the Red Planet because he himself does not believe this could be true. The short movie was developed with the collaboration between 8i and Time. The film is meant to bring the viewer on the surface of the Red Planet by using a virtual reality device.

Then, the movie unveils how a Mars colony could look like if the colonization process is successful. Aldrin argues that he thinks that those who will reach the Red Planet first will have to face severe environment conditions for future generations to develop there.
