‘Chelsea’ will no longer explore further topics for new episodes. That’s because the host of the Netflix talk show decided to leave this project behind. Instead, Chelsea Handler will spend her time pursuing political activism. The comedian claimed that it was Donald Trump who inspired her to fight for changing the world.
Handler Has Already Started Several Steps towards Political Activism
On Wednesday, Chelsea Handler turned to Twitter to announce the world that she decided not to follow through with the third season of ‘Chelsea.’ The Netflix project was announced to appear in 2018. However, the host of the show decided to cancel it and move on to an entirely different program. She will dedicate her time for political activism.
“Like so many across the country, the past presidential election and the countless events that have unfolded since have galvanized me.”
The American actress has already taken several steps in this direction. First of all, she joined Emily’s List, an organization that protects women’s abortion rights. By conjoining their forces, Handler hopes to promote and see more women seated in public offices.
Handler will also travel across the country to contact colleges. She plans to talk to students directly and hear what their concerns and aspirations are. She will also promote people in whom she believes as promoters of women’s rights.
During her travels, Chelsea will also film her interviews and experiences. If the material is good, she will consider the idea of turning them into another Netflix documentary. The topics would vary from politics, religion, and ethnicity.
Chelsea’s Netflix Talk Show Will End by 2018
In the meantime, the ‘Chelsea’ talk show will continue until the end of 2017. There are no data to certify the level of success this production enjoys. Netflix adopted a stern policy not to disclose ratings. On the other hand, the reviews in the media were negative in general.
At the beginning of the show, Chelsea was generally avoiding political topics. However, she admitted in her tweet that the 2016 presidential election had encouraged her to learn more about the world of politicians and get more involved in this area.
