“There is no dark side in the moon
Chinese Mission Plans to Land on the Dark Side of the Moon and the researchers who lead the program have said in a statement that this could be possible in 2020. Still, the Chinese scientists will not directly send a probe to the dark side of the moon. According to a recent statement released by them, it looks like the Chang’e 4 spacecraft will orbit the moon prior to the sending a rover to Earth`s natural satellite.
“We probably will choose a site on which it is more difficult to land and more technically challenging … Our next move will probably see some spacecraft land on the far side of the moon,”
Wu Werein has recently said in statement. Wu is in the position of chief engineer for the Chinese Lunar Exploration Program.
Until now, humans have observed the dark side of the moon, however they have only accomplished that by spacecraft flying around the natural satellite. Landing on that mysterious side of the moon has not yet been realized.
The researchers working on the ambitious space program have already found a location which they see as perfect for the 2020 landing. According to them, a probe landing on the South Pole-Aitken basin of the moon would provide priceless info on the history of the satellite.
This program is following another Chinese success, which occurred in the last month of 2013. Then, the Chang’e 3 successfully landed on the moon, and by that China became the third country of the world to land a spacecraft on the natural satellite of the Earth, after the United States and Russia.
China has announced in March that the third phase of their lunar exploration program will start in 2017. Chang’e 5 is expected to land on the surface of the moon and collect rock samples, then return to Earth.
