Google is pretty busy these days! We’ve recently reported that Divide joined Google to turn Android into the ultimate conqueror and today we have a date for the upcoming Google IO 2014, the Google convention where many updates and launches are to be expected. In today’s article we’re going to look at a few things we hope Google tackles in the June convention.
Google IO 2014 – What Should We Expect?
Google IO 2014 is set to kick off at 9 A.M. Pacific on the 25th of June. The convention will be filled with announcements about new gadgets, operating systems and robots. There have even been hints at quite a strong gaming presence, also. If you haven’t been able to buy Google IO 2014 tickets (which were sold in a lottery for quite high prices), then you can relax, because there will be a live stream to watch the events on both June 25 and 26.
Most likely, the Google IO 2014 will bring us a new version of Android. The current version of Android, the Jelly Bean, was introduced in December of last year and if you look at Android’s timeline, you can see plain and clear that it is time for a new version. We can’t wait to see what new and improved features Android gets!
Nest is another thing that is most likely to be showcased at the Google IO 2014. Google’s Nest Labs is automatizing our homes one step at a time. Google’s first stab at it is the Nest thermostat, available in in the Google Play Store. More could be on its way and we’re looking forward to it.
We also believe that June 25 is the time when Google will let the world know more about the Project Ara. The funky phone made of interchangeable blocks that will save money and also reduce phone waste. Wouldn’t it be nice if Google introduced another and more improved prototype? Project Ara is an area where Google should really focus a lot of time and money, because it could potentially change the way we operate smartphones. It’s a whole new territory and Google has dibs on it!
