Florida University, J. C Jackson was allegedly helped by two men to break in and rob the house of one of his “buddies,” as early reports indicate the gators football player broke into house for marijuana, $382 and two video consoles.
A freshman Gators football player from the University of Florida, has been arrested by the police after an armed robbery at an apartment from Gainesville.
On Saturday afternoon , nineteen year old Jerald Christopher Jackson, accompanied by two other men, entered the apartment of someone he knew. According to the police records, at one point Jackson had left on the excuse that he had to talk on the phone, but the other two men, remained.
It appears that one of them has pulled out a weapon and pointed it at the person living in the apartment and his two visitors. The two men, told the victims to lay on the floor and they took out of their pocket all their money .
It seems they left with two video game consoles, $382 worth of cash and marijuana.
Police reports have stated that Jackson never got back to the spot, but later that day he called one of the victims and was indentified. Later that day, he was arrested by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office. It appears that Jackson went to the apartment on various occasions to party and smoke.
Jackson was arrested and taken to the Alachua County jail under the accusation of armed robbery and was detained on a bond of $150,000.
Trough a statement, Jim McElwain, Florida Univeristie’s head coach, stated that they were aware of the situation involving J. C. Jackson, and that he is facing a serious problem. He added that they didn’t agree with his actions and is not related in any way with what they are taught in the program and that the case is being handled according to the severity of his deeds.
One of the victims who talked to the police, said that they had a weapon pressed against his face and was asked to tell them where does he keep his money and drugs.
For the moment police is going further with the investigation on the case and they are looking to find out the identities of the other two men involved.
This hasn’t been the first time Jackson made his name known trough other activities apart from football.
In December he literary dodged a bullet when was involved in a gun fire in Immokalee,Florida, his hometown. Jackson was in a vehicle together with two other men, when a passing car started shooting at them.
Few days before this incident, Jackson with two of his field colleagues, cornerback Jalen Tabor and quarterback Treon Harris were pulled over by the police for driving at high speed on campus. According to the reports of the University of Florida Police Department, the car was smelling of marijuana and were found inside two small bags of drugs . None of the player were the owners of the car and they got out of it without any charges.
