However, Google comes out with a stunner with the announcement of the new chocolate drenched edition.
Since the next Android is called Android KitKat, even its mascot dons the look of KitKat bars which will remind you the actual Kitkat chocolate bar from Nestle. You There is a dedicated webpage where you can find more info on Android KitKat through android.com/kitkat. You will be surprised to see that they have couple links landing on to Nextle’s Kitkat website. Android has always come out with interesting names for all of its previous versions such as CupCake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice-cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean and the newly announced KitKat. It is quite evident that Google has signed up a deal to promote KitKat brand name. However, guys at Google claim that there has been no agreement on adveritsing the brand. Nestle already plans to make huge revenue through Android-branded KitKats. The company plans to launch these new chocolate bars in various countries of the world such as US, UK, India, Brazil, Japan and some more.
Google has done it well to keep the ‘KitKat’ name secret since the Mobile World Congress event which was held earlier this year. John Lagerling who is the director of Android global partnerships has said that the name ‘Android Key Lime Pie’ was an internal code name and it was the very name that was used to talk about the version 4.4 Android with its partners.
By the way, Google has only announced the name of the next version of Android but it has not spoken anything on the features of Google Android 4.4 KitKat. Until the Android 4.4 was unveiled today, even the version of the OS was kept under the wraps. Many were of the view that the next version would be 5.0.
Recently, the Android 4.3 upgrade was unveiled in July. Before the upgrade arrived, tech experts were thinking Google will roll out Android 5.0 after Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. However, they introduced the 4.3 upgrade which was not a major update anyway. Well Google is talking about the new Android 4.4 KitKat as ‘goal with Android KitKat is to make an amazing Android experience available to everybody.’
We are not sure what Google means to say by saying that. However, we guess that Google is trying to hint that the new upgrade will be available even for inexpensive devices. Some tech experts even feel that the upgrade will be avialable for devices running on older versions of Android such as Honeycomb, Gingerbread and Froyo.
