google glass explorerThe long – time disputed Google Glass, a device that the tech giant is been testing for quite some time now received world – wide appraisal recently for its potential to be of real help to surgery patients, as we reported not so long ago. The news revolving around this revolutionary, yet contested piece of hi – tech also made people all over the world cheer in joy, as Google, wanting to turn the device from a geeky gadget to a truly wearable accessory, shook hands with Italian fashion eye-wear manufacturer Luxottica, a brand covering famous labels such as Ray Ban and Vogue.

But recent news posted on Google+ social network tell us that the tech giant is taking an even further step to provide the fans with a deeper insight into the Google Glass experience: they will make Google Glass available for purchase in the U.S. on April 15. Brace yourselves, however, as the mass sales strategy for all Americans wishing to become members of the “Explorers” team will have only a day to spend the mandatory $1,500 for the Google Glass. You will be able to buy the device online, starting with 9 a.m. Eastern time.

Why does Google make Google Glass available for purchase in the U.S.?

The device, as we said, is been quite disputed by those fearing that the Glass will intrusively break into their personal lives, spying on them and gathering information about them. On the other hand, just as Google officials mentioned, if someone really wanted to spy on people, they would use a lot of other devices specially designed for this purpose – which work better and are less… “visible”. The reason behind this selling opportunity is that Google wants to get its friends closer to the Google Glass experience and give them a chance to enjoy what has been called

the biggest step yet into the emerging smart eyewear market.

The one day and one day only mass sale choice is motivated by the popular request, coming from people who want to test the Glass, so Google is now giving everybody this opportunity. If you have the money, you should hurry up, as the offer is limited – number of units wise. However, if you want to brag with the coolest gadget in town (Loxottica framed Google Glass), you will have to wait until next year.
