In an attempt to keep users entertained, Google partners with Skrillex to launch limited edition intergalactic cases for Android devices. The partnership was announced on Thursday after Google’s Accessories Senior Manager Kari Clark, revealed the first photos of the upcoming smartphone cases through a blog post.

Among the many projects that Google is currently developing, the company is also planning to take over the market segment of smartphone accessories. According to Kari Clark, the search giant plans to enliven the looks of Android-based smartphones with its new interstellar-inspired cases.

These models will, nevertheless, be available only for a limited number of smartphones. The company further disclosed that the intergalactic cases will only be compatible with Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Samsung Galaxy S5, S6 and Note 4. These designs have resulted from the creative genius of the Grammy Award winner musician, Skrillex, who is expected to persuade many young users to purchase the new cases.

The aforementioned phones will also feature live wallpapers. The option enables users to skim through various satellite photos reproducing the Earth as seen from the space and various constellations. Live wallpapers will be available on Google’s Play Store starting this June.

The news of the recent partnership between Google and Skrillex was also confirmed on the singer’s personal Twitter account. He was, nevertheless, sad to inform fans that the cases will only be compatible with few Android devices. The Grammy Award winner currently holds an iPhone, but he could soon switch to an Android-based smartphone just to be able to use the new intergalactic cases.

Releasing only a limited number of covers could be Google’s strategy to determine as many youths as possible to purchase them. The company may be producing many more cases in the future once the covers become popular.

Many advantages arise from the recent partnership on Skrillex behalf, as well. Users will be able to quickly and easily access his YouTube account by using the shortcut button placed in their Live Case. Moreover, fans will stay up to date with the artist’s recent activity and projects. They will be able to purchase Skrillex’s recent album on Google’s Play Store.

The price of the new Live Case was set at around $40. Prices, however, may vary depending on the regions where they will be commercialized.
