HTC has officially announced that an HTC Sense 5 and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update has been made available for all the variants of HTC One X. The HTC One X was announced in February 2012 and then the device was released in May 2012.
When it was launched, it was running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS overlaid with HTC Sense 4.0 which was then updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. HTC had also launched couple of HTC One X variants such as HTC One X+, HTC One XL, and HTC One XC (for Chinese Market). The update which has been made available will update all these editions of HTC One X.
At the beginning of this year, HTC had announced that would be releasing the newer HTC Sense 5 for the HTC One handset. When they had released the news about it, that time HTC had only spoken about rolling out Sense 5 for global variants of HTC One. Such an announcement confused the customers and kept them guessing whether the global editions of HTC One would be updated or the update will be available to all the regions of the world.
Still, HTC has not released an official date for the release to be available. We feel summer may be the probable time when HTC One customers will be able to install the update. However, the update will be slightly delayed until the winter for AT&T HTC One. HTC BlinkFeed and HTC Zoe are the two exclusive features from HTC that will come to all the HT Cone variants.
HTC BlinkFeed is the new feature from HTC that will make use of a simple interface which will show up feeds grouped by topic instead of the conventional Android interface. HTC Zoe is a photo capturing mode that is mainly meant for the UltraPixel camera which is available on HTC One line of phones. The feature records a high-definition video of 3.6 seconds which also includes 20 snapped photos. The snapped photos and videos will be then shown in your gallery in a very different and it will transform your gallery into a motion gallery. You can share the videos on social sites and other services.
The HTC One comes with 4.7 inch Super IPS LCD2 technology touchscreen that supports 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. It is powered with 1.5GHz quad-core CPU and Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset and ULP GeForce GPU. It has got 1GB RAM. It is packed with 8MP camera that supports simultaneous HD video and photo shooting and 1080p full HD video recording at 24fps. Other features include secondary camera of 1.3MP, Beats Audio, MHL port, WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and 1800mAh battery. The HTC One X+ has got more or less the same specs as HTC One. However, it comes with 1.7GHz quad-core CPU, Corning Glass 2, secondary camera of 1.6MP and 2100 mAh battery.
HTC Sense 5 update is yet to hit newer HTC phones. It will first come to HTC Butterfly. It will also get Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. After this, the update will be available to other HTC devices like HTC One X variants.
