iPhone 5S Features that Will Make You Think Twice Before You Go For it

The iPhone 5S has arrived and Apple has hyped the device as a premium product which is available in colors like gold, silver and gray. The cheaper iPhone 5C is available in other colors like blue, green, yellow, red and white.

Experts who have previewed the iPhone 5C have concluded that the specs of the handset are similar to that of iPhone 5 and have nothing significant to offer. The iPhone 5S has also met with mixed reaction from tech analysts. Experts feel that the iPhone 5S is just a minor upgraded version of iPhone 5. The only major feature is the fingerprint sensor, which lies beneath the home button. The sensor offers a new security feature for users who do not need to bother to type in login credentials.

Apart from the fingerprint sensor, there are some iPhone 5S features that have disappointed tech experts:

Same Display Size
The iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S feature the same sized display. Apple claims that the iPhone 5S display offers better resolution than its predecessor. However, since the size of the display has been kept the same, we do not feel there would be no or very less difference in the resolution.

Faster CPU
At the Apple iPhone 5S launch event, Phil Scheller spoke about the new A7 CPU and its 64bit architecture. The A7 is deemed to be twice faster than the A6 chipset. However, Apple did not mention how that would benefit the end user. It is quite understandable that a faster CPU would definitely assist in playing high graphics demanding games and apps. However, that A7 chipset would also consume lot of battery juice. During the launch event, Apple did not talk much about the battery life of iPhone 5S.

Same Old Battery
As we mentioned, the iPhone 5S is packed with a faster CPU. So, if you are browsing the web on 4G speeds, watching 1080p video, talking over the handset for an hour or so, definitely your battery will die within a day. So, Apple has launched an upgraded version of iPhone 5 as iPhone 5S but have not bothered to upgrade its battery.

128GB Not Available Yet
Many of the leading Android smartphones available come good internal storage space. Along with it these phones allow you to add an additional microSD card on the external memory slot to load huge files and carry it along wherever you go. Well, we do not why Apple is not offering external storage feature. The maximum storage space available on iPhone is 64GB.

Apple should have introduced a 128GB storage variant device. With the same old 64GB storage space, iPhone users still have limited storage space for storing apps, games, videos and music files.

No Significant Feature to Offer
As we said before, the most significant feature of iPhone 5S is the fingerprint sensor. Apart from this, you won’t find any innovative feature on the iPhone 5S. May be Apple intends to offer new features with the iPhone 6. Well, Apple has offered something that users may have already expected to come on the iPhone 5S: a fast performing CPU and an improved camera. Those features are good but they are not ‘wow’ factor that will prompt an existing Android user to ditch Android and go for iOS7 powered iPhone 5S.

Expensive Deal
The iPhone 5S can be availed on contract for $200. However, if you want to purchase the handset outright then you will have to shell out $650 which is lot of money. Many of the Android smartphones like the Galaxy S4 and  HTC One that come with better or competitive features are priced less than the iPhone 5S.

The iPhone 5S is going to be released on September 20. Contrary to all the previous releases, the iPhone 5S is going to be released in major countries like US, China and Japan on the same day. It is quite evident that Apple is now targeting the Asian markets which are ruled by Android smartphones. It also aims to make it big it with the cheaper iPhone 5C in China which considered to be largest smartphone market in the world.

What do you think about the new iPhone 5S? What do you think about the points we discussed here? Will you consider buying the iPhone 5S? Do let us know your views in the comments section below.,
