Created by two students Indian from Bangalore, the pair of shoes can be pre-ordered at a price of $ 100. Also known as the “shoes with feedback”, the creation of the two Indians, Anirudh Sharma and Krispian Lawrence of the University of Michigan, keeps in touch with a smartphone via Bluetooth and is careful to “see” if you are following the course established by your smartphone. Thus, if the wearer has to turn left, the left shoe vibrates, and if the right track is on the right, the right one vibrates.
Lechal GPS Footwear for iOS, Android and Windows Phone
The Lechal GPS Footwear creators have released the product with the application that can communicate with a smartphone being available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. When you run out of battery, you can easily charge the shoes using a USB cable.
The wonderful part about these shoes is the fact that they are very versatile. At a fist look, you would think that they are suitable only for people with difficulty in seeing or completely blind, as they offer the chance to really get to where you need to be and not having to stop at all times for directions.
However, the Lechal GPS Footwear can easily work as a pair of ordinary sneakers (they already look that way), perfect for people who play sports. Lechal GPS Footwear communicates to the smartphone app the number of steps you take and the number of calories burned with the effort.
The Lechal GPS Footwear comes with a whole bunch of other features you might find useful: Lechal GPS Footwear alerts you if your phone is not close by, if you are travelling to different places, you can get notifications on the landmarks near you, you get to customize the intensity of the vibrations, plus you can stay in touch with the Lechal community and share your experiences.
As we stated before, the Lechal GPS Footwear can be pre –ordered for $ 100 and you can either purchase the insoles (did you think you only had to wear one pair of shoes your entire life?), the shoes, the charger.
