LG Electronics is all set to announce its G2 smartphone on the 7th August. Dubbed as the best smartphone the South Korean company has ever launched, the G2 and will feature an almost bezel less display. What is even more innovative with the G2 is the way the smartphone includes its physical buttons along the rear of the device. This sure will be a new development and it remains to be seen how users respond to such a move. That apart, the G2 is as slim and sleek as one would expect of a frontline phone from LG. Also, the device will have on-screen buttons which has been done at the behest of Google. The Optimus G comes with thre usual capacitive buttons that is common on all smartphones running Android.
However, official details of the phone’s specs are sparse right now. The only bit that we can be sure of as of now is that the device will have at its core the Snapdragon 800 chip which no doubt will ensure breezy performance. LG already has an event lined up on August 7 which will act to usher in the Optimus G2, the successor to the Optimus G. Other phones that the South Korean manufacturer has lined up for a launch on August 7 include the Optimus L9 II (LG-D600) for the mid range segment and the low end LG-D500.
LG has had a history of pushing technology to the extreme and the new G2 is once again a testament of that. For its not every day that we come across a smartphone that has its physical buttons along its rear. LG has also been showing flexible displays of late and we might even get to see a smartphone with such a display in the near future.
