Cagney Wenk witnessed his son’s birth hours after suffering a brain surgery.
STATES CHRONICLE – After suffering a surgery meant to remove his brain tumor, Cagney Wenk was carried from the ICU to witness his son’s birth. He was very excited when he first saw his newborn baby. He was there, in the delivery room, sitting in a chair, continuously attached to all sort of medical gadgets. Cagney Wenk, a 26-year-world man, was diagnosed with brain cancer and needed many medical procedures to remove it.
Marissa Wenk, the patient’s sister, declared for The Huffington Post that her brother found out about his disease three weeks before his girlfriend, Jessica Li, gave birth to their first child. Cagney was diagnosed with stage four glioblastoma. He came to the hospital after experiencing some headaches for many days in a row. To get rid of the tumor he has in his right lobe, Cagney is forced to go through chemotherapy and radiation which are painful procedures.
A few days ago, when Jessica was in labor, medical staff from Boulder Community Hospital wanted to surprise the beautiful couple. The nurses brought Cagney from the ICU to the delivery room to be present at his son’s coming into the world. He was very moved and overwhelmed by this experience that he couldn’t stop his joy tears. Cagney was very proud to assist his baby’s delivery.
The nurses requested for the help of Sara Boccolucci to tape the whole surprise and the assistance of a Colorado photographer. Sara is part of the organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, and she was responsible for documenting the event. Cagney’s sister told the media that this surprise was meant to transform a unique moment into a magical memory for the new parents. The photos and the video reveal so much love.
Cagney forgot about his brain tumor and other medical problems for a while and described how his fiance’s pregnancy changed his life. He learned to be more relaxed but also more responsible for him, his lover and their baby on the way. Boccolucci had yet one more goal. She posted the video online trying to determine people to organize a fundraising to help Cagney cure his brain tumor.
If you could, would you help this beautiful family? Would you donate money for those who have a brain tumor? Nothing is more important than health. It is too bad we realize that after our health condition is impaired.
