Sledgehammer Mayhem.

Dallas man arrested for destroying cop cars with sledgehammer.

A Dallas man was recently arrested and charged with criminal mischief after allegedly destroying a dozen police vehicles with a sledgehammer. The man was taken into custody without any incidents. A police spokesperson said that the man could have been killed in the incident.

Sledgehammer Marauder Totals Every Cop Car in the Lot

On Sunday morning, just before 5 a.m., 59-year-old Gregory Simpson of Dallas, drove his car inside the City Marshall’s detention center. The individual calmly exited his vehicle, opened the trunk, took out a heavy-duty sledgehammer and begun smashing every police car he could lay eyes on.

Despite the officers leaving the building in a matter of minutes, the sledgehammer man managed to damage at least a dozen cop cars before he was taken into custody. Michael Mata, a spokesperson for the Dallas Police Association, commented that the individual is very lucky to be in one piece after the incident.

Reportedly, while busy smashing a police vehicle, Simpson was approached by an unarmed police officer who ordered him to stop what he was doing. At that point, the Dallas man simply turned around, laid down his sledgehammer and allowed the officer to arrest him.

Mata declared that if Simpson refused to lower his sledgehammer or attempted to attack the police officers, he would have been gunned down by his colleagues.

However, the man was taken into custody and formally charged with criminal mischief. At the moment, he’s being held at the North Tower Detention Facility in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

Conclusion

When confronted with his deed, the man would not offer any motive. However, as Mata declared, he had a wide smile painted on his face throughout his mugshot session. As the case is still being investigated and we’ll provide you with updates.
