On November 3 we celebrate the National Sandwich Day.
STATES CHRONICLE – On October 3rd we celebrate the National Sandwich Day. This popular type of food has its origins in the name of its inventor, Earl of Sandwich. In the 1700s, he was the first one to prepare such a delicious meal for his guests. The well-known food company called Subway is celebrating this tasty holiday with “The Good Deed Feed.”
Subway has come up with an excellent idea of sharing their favorite sandwiches to their customers for free. Subway also engages in doing another good deed. They promise to donate food for those who are in need through the association called Feeding America. Probably, many of us are not aware of the fact that tons of food are being discarded on a daily basis when there are a lot of beggers who haven’t eaten for days.
Unfortunately, we are the consumption generation who are only focused on larger quantities, being very selfish and greedy. Instead of spending a lot of money on things that end up in the trash, we should only buy what we need. Every day a lot of people die from starvation. We need to be caring and good-hearted people and donate something to those who lack so many things.
Today, those customers who will purchase a meal or beverage will receive a free delicious sandwich. The National Sandwich Day was meant to be day Subway makes the largest food donation in the history of Feeding America. They are bound to provide an unlimited number of meals for beggers or stray people.
Another food company Schlotzsky’s also celebrates the National Sandwich Day. They offer a free medium sandwich if the customer buys a medium one which has approximately the same value. This will include their range of specialties.
If you want to donate a meal for unprivileged people or you just want a free sandwich, you need to know the list of sandwich shops which have discounts or free meals. Aside from Schlotzsky’s and Subway, there is also Potbelly Sandwich Shop. Here you are given a chance to win a year of free meals from Potbelly. This sounds delicious. All you have to do is to buy a sandwich from one of their restaurants, take a photo of the sandwich and uploaded it to Instagram including the tags #PBEntry and #NationalSandwichDay.
