A British scientist specialized in the field of anti aging techniques claims that he will reach the age of 150 years old. In order to achieve this impossible age for a human being he is taking up to 100 pills per day and is constantly verifying the biochemical properties of his blood.
Apart from that he exercises on a regular basis and goes to medical check-ups religiously. The doctor is a vaccine believer and as soon as a vaccine is released, he goes to have it done. The anti-ageing research is the most important thing he is living for, and he is not interested in getting married, having kids or in any material goods.
Doctor Alex Zhavoronkov is the director of the Biogerontology Research Foundation and has also written a book called “The Ageless generation: How Advances in Biomedicine Will Transform the Global Economy.
Zhavoronkov believes that the main cause for people not living longer is the psychological impact of getting older. He thinks that an important part of his work is to find a way of overcoming the expectations humans have about ageing. The main reason we age is not just biological but has more to do with the economical, behavioral and social level.
Humans tend to form their own expectations regarding getting older and the first factor they take into consideration is the family background followed by the average death rate the country they live in has. They don’t show signs of changing these perceptions in the near future, explained Zhavoronkov in an interview.
His statements have appeared few weeks after researchers from Austria have stated that the official old age begins at 74 because there has been so much progress in medicine.
The scientist who is now 37 years old believes that living up to 150 years doesn’t imply you to be young and that even people of 70 years or more can reach 150 years as long as they are healthy.
People of 70 years old and up, today, have lived rough times and are much more resistant than young people nowadays. They managed to live this longer because of factors like luck, resistance to stress and genetics, among others, explained Zhavoronkov.
Humans have been trying to fight death and aging for decades and presently researchers seem more and more focused on coming across a scientific fountain of youth.
In 2013, Google launched Calico, a company specialized in studies and developments that would allow humans to live longer and healthier.
World billionaires such as Larry Ellison the former chief of Oracle and Peter Thiel the co-founder of PayPal have been supporting financially researches in the anti aging field.
Soon, people will live the effects of biomedical research which will slowly reduce mortality by diminishing many diseases. This situation will occur in a matter of 2-3 years, when there will exist on the market medication that will allow people to stay younger and healthier, added Zhavoronkov.
