In the first and second quarter of 2013, we saw many brands rolling out high-end phones with expensive price tag. However, as we near the end of the year, we can hear rumors about new budget friendly phones. Samsung released the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and the HTC is rumored to be working on the HTC One Mini. Now, even Google and Apple have joined the competition.
Google is going to release the Nexus 5 which is going to replace the predecessor Nexus 4 device. On the other side, Apple is working on churning out a new iPhone called the iPhone 5C in the coming month.
Apple is scheduled to unveil the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C on the 10th of September. The iPhone 5C will sport a plastic body and will house 4 inch Retina Display. It will be powered with dual-core CPU. Analysts believe that the low-budget iPhone is being built mainly to take on numerous Android handsets that are priced at affordable prices in the Asian markets.
Meanwhile, Google is not keeping quiet and is ready to take on iPhone 5C and other budget phones from popular brands with the new Nexus 5. Some analysts were of the view that Google will be releasing the Moto X phone as the new Nexus 5 product but this is not going to happen. Rumors have it that LG which manufactured the Nexus 4 is going to build the Nexus 5.
Even BlackBerry is working on launching the 9270 handset which will come out with low price tag. Nokia has got couple of cheaper Lumia phones in the market. Nokia is currently making revenue mainly through its mid-range products. So, the competition is getting tighter in the world of low-priced handsets.
