Let us introduce you to the first phone from Nokia that breaks the 4.5inch display barrier. The Nokia Lumia 625 which comes with 4.7inch display is the newest addition to the Lumia line of phones from Nokia.
In the past week, we had reported that Nokia is working on a mysterious Lumia device with 4.7inch display. We had also mentioned the name of the phone. The same news has been officially confirmed by Nokia.
The Nokia Lumia 625 comes with a pixel density of 221 ppi. According to Nokia, you will face no problem in using the device under direct sunlight. You can also use your nails or gloves to navigate on the touchscreen.
The Lumia 625 supports 4G LTE connectivity. The phone is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core CPU. However, the makers have only 512MB RAM. The internal storage of the phone is 8GB. The external memory slot of the phone can detect up to 64GB of microSD.
At the front side of the phone there is a VGA camera and the on the rear, you can find a 5MP camera. The phone is available in various colors such as orange, yellow, white, and green. You can change the color by changing the interchangeable shells which are made up of translucent polycarbonate. The colors are rich and very attractive. The phone runs on the latest version of Windows Phone 8.
We are not sure when the Nokia Lumia 625 will come to US. What we do know is that the phone will go on sale in countries like China, India, Europe, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East in the third quarter of the year. The phone will be sold for 220Euros which is around 290USD. For US, the next and greatest phone to arrive from Nokia is the Lumia 1020 which comes with 41MP camera. The phone will be made available by AT&T.
The specs of the Lumia 625 seems to be fine but as mentioned before, we are disappointed by the 512MB RAM onboard. Most of the phones today are providing 1GB and high-end phones are offering 2GB RAM. The phone comes preloaded with many Nokia apps such as Here Suite, Vimeo, Temple Run, WhatsApp and many more.
The Lumia 625 is the largest Lumia device Nokia has manufactured till now. Competitors like Samsung, Sony, and LG have all launched large sized phablet devices. Nokia still refrains from entering that segment and continues to remain in the mid-range category.
