Nokia is all set to launch its latest Lumia 925 in India soon. The smartphone that boasts of an all metallic body is considered to be the Finnish company’s answer to the HTC One. The match will be interesting as apart from the looks and features that the Lumia 925 and the HTC One will have on offer, it will also be a battle of the operating systems, with the devices running Windows 8 and the latest Android Jelly Bean respectively.
Coming to the specs, the Lumia 925 will sport a whole aluminum body that impresses with its sleek lines while also being slim and lightweight. The 925 will be unique in that it is the first in the Lumia series to be clad in metal which translates to enhanced robustness for the smartphone. Upfront, it will be a 4.5 inch amoled display with a Gorilla 2 glass layer to allow for better survivability. The device will be powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor along with a 16 GB internal memory. The latter bit though is a step lower than the 32 GB internal storage that the Lumia 920 offered.
Another unique aspect with the Lumia 925 will be its enhanced photographic abilities thanks to the use of a new advanced lens technology as well as a new imaging software, both of which contributes to pictures that are a lot more clear and vibrant. The Lumia 925 will also feature the new Nokia Smart Camera mode which though will be provided as an update to all Lumia smartphone running Windows 8. The Nokia Smart Camera mode allows the user to take 10 snaps at once which can then be edited with smart options such as Best Shot, Action Shot and Motion Focus.
Nokia has also stated that Hipstamatic will be introduced on the Lumia smartphone series which will allow users to share the images on popular social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and Instagram.
However, there is no news of when the Lumia 925 will eventually land in India or what it will cost. The Nokia site is mentioning the phone as ‘coming soon’ though the device could cost about Rs 33,290 considering the same in Europe costs 469 Euros.
