What’s so intriguing about Nvidia SHIELD? It is an handled gaming console. However, what it makes it different from other handheld consoles is that you will be able to enjoy Android games on it as well as stream your favorite PC games to it. The reason why we are spelling it in all caps is that Nvidia wants the device to spelled that way.

The Nvidia SHIELD was unveiled at the MWC event that was held in February. Now, if you want to make the Nvidia Shield yours, you can pre-order it now. You can get the device for $349.99. On Nvidia’s website, you will not find any info as to when the device will be released. However, retailers like GameStop, and NewEgg that are also taking pre-orders have mentioned the release date of Nvidia SHIELD as June 4. Even Canada Computer is also taking pre-orders.

Do you like Sonic 4 Episode II? Well, if you like it then there is good news for you. When you pre-order the handheld SHIELD, you will be given two games Sonic 4 Episode II THD and Expendable: Rearmed. The SHIELD is powered with Tegra 4 CPU which means you will be able to enjoy amazing graphics when you play those two games on SHIELD.

The SHIELD comes with a touchscreen that supports multi-touch and has a display resolution of 720p. It is powered with Tegra 4 processor. It has got integrated speakers which delivers decent sound output, and there is Wi-Fi connectivity onboard. SHIELD runs on vanilla Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. The stock version of Android allows you to connect to Google Play Store and TegraZone where you can download exclusively developed games for devices running on Tegra.

It has got USB and HDMI ports onboard. It comes with a massive battery that allows you to play for nearly 10 hours or you can enjoy HD video playback for 24 hours. If your computer is powered with GeForce, you can stream your games from your computer to SHIELD (or even to you television) through Wi-Fi.

We have got more good news for you. Recently, 5 new games were announced for SHIELD which includes Broken Age, Costume Quest, Flyhunter, Skiing Fred and Chuck’s Challenge 3D. Nvidia is also offering quite a few accessories for the device which includes carrying case, pouch and custom lids.

What do you think about the new handheld gaming console from Nvidia? Will it attract buyers? Do let us know what you think about it.
