Nvidia, the graphics processing unit giant which has already made a name in the world of mobile chip business is now looking forward to make it big in the tablet niche. The news has come from a tech blog called Techkiddy which has published that the Nvidia Tegra Tab 7 tablet has been spotted in AnTuTu benchmark.
The tablet is currently being tested at the labs in China and it is being referred by the name Tegra Tab 7 Premium. Google which has released the new edition Nexus 7 recently has moved on to Qualcomm from Nvidia. So, the new slate from Google is powered with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU. What may be the reason behind it? Some analysts feel that it may because the GPU giant is looking forward to roll out its own tablet very soon.
It has been in the news that Nvidia is working on a 7 inch tablet for quite some time. The tablet that is still under the wraps is believed to be powered with Tegra 4 SoC with a clocking speed of 1.8GHz. The device was seen to have a score of 27643 points. The test result showed that it is powered with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
We have got an image of the mysterious Nvidia Tegra Tab for you. At the rear of the tablet, it reads ‘Tegra Tab’ which definitely indicates that the said tablet is powered with a Tegra CPU. Recent leaks also indicate that the Tegra Tab will house a much higher resolution display which is the reason it has manage to score such points.
Nvidia which had released the Android powered gaming console in United States and Canada was powered with a Tegra 4 CPU. The console supports games that are available on TegraZone, Google Play Store and Stream from Valve. The score of Tegra Shield device on AnTuTu is higher than the new Tegra Tab.
Tegra Tab which is still in its nascent is predicted to take on the new Nexus 7 from Google. It is rumored to have 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. Leaks about the Tegra Tab shows that there will be a 5MP shooter at the rear. It will come with connectivity ports such as microUSB, microHDMI and microSD.
More and more rumors have started pouring in about the Tegra Tab. However, there is no official confirmation from the Nvidia camp. So we are not sure about when the device will be out in the market.
