Just when you thought that there aren’t any new smartphones available on the market, a new one is being announced. Not that the smartphone market isn’t crowded enough but we always want to have where to choose from. The new kid on the block is the OnePlus One smartphone which combines a sleek and customizable design with some really powerful specs.
Launched under the OnePlus company’s motto “Never Settle” the OnePlus One smartphone comes with a 5.5 inch full HD screen, 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with and Adreno 330 GPU, a quad core, 16-64GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM.
The OnePlus One smartphone features a 13 megapixel back camera with a Sony Exmor sensor and a dual LED flash that can record a 4K video. The new smartphone has a 5 megapixel front camera, LTE, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, a 3,100 mAh battery and built-in speakers. The OnePlus One smartphone weights 162 grams and the 8.9 mm frame is a little rounded, making it 4.6 mm thick at its edges. With all of these great features one can say that the OnePlus One can compete with any other flagship phones on the market. On the software side of things, the phone runs on a CyanogenMod 115, which is a custom Android ROM that was inspired by the Android 4.4 version. The CyanogenMod software can be customized but that’s not the sole reason that it was chosen for the OnePlus One smartphone. Peter Lau, the head of OnePlus, worked as the vice president of Oppo, an electronics manufacturer which used the CyanogenMod software for the N1 phone. Oppo are the ones who built the OnePlus smartphone and the two devices share many similar specifications.
