Young Soo Kim had hinted about the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active in April. That has finally fructified into reality with Samsung announcing it last Wednesday. The expected release date of the device is early July. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is the rugged version of the standard Galaxy S4 and is both dust and waterproof. This device would therefore be most suitable for the outdoor person who needs a device that is both rugged as well as something that is neat in design and style.
Dates of the release date have not been officially acknowledged by Samsung, though SamMobile have mentioned it to be July 1 being the time when it would be available in the UK.
More details about the product would be known at the “Galaxy & ATIV” event that is scheduled to be held on June 29 in London. Though specs and design of the SGS4 Active has been quite extensively discussed, the dates when the device would be available to the world at large is something that all are waiting eagerly to learn at the Galaxy & ATIV event. This event is being organized by Samsung itself.
For those who came in late, the SGS4 Active would have a 5 inch TFT display. The pixel density would be 441 pixels. At its core the SGS4 Active would have a Snapdragon 600 processor clocking 1.9 Ghz while the RAM would be of 2 GB. Internal storage of the SGS4 Active would be 16 GB that is expandable via the micro Sd card slot to 64 GB. The device would sport two cameras with the one at rear being of 8 megapixel along with flash while the other at the front of 2 megapixel resolution. The battery pack that comes with the device is of 2600 mAh rating.
Price of the device has yet to be announced by Samsung.
