Samsung’s S4 project J has been on top of the rumor sheet since quite some time. Samsung Serrano, considered to be a part of Project J was being predicted to be the miniature S4 itself. But actually, the SGH-I257 may not be the Samsung S4 Mini.
Tinnier S4 is rumored to possess a qHD display, while some sources have recently revealed that the Serrano will possess a 720p display instead of qHD. This was indeed very confusing and questionable. S4 Mini and Serrano may not be the same devices that Samsung has planned to include in the S4 series this year.
S4 Mini is supposed to release in July and will be carried by AT&T. Samsung is also keen on launching the S4 Activ, a rough variant of the 5-inch smartphone, featuring water resistant and dust proof coating, ideal for use at rugged environments. Samsung S4 Mini is said to possess a 4.3 inches S-AMOLED touch screen of 540*960 pixels resolution at a pixel density of 256 ppi.
The model will run on dual core 1.6 GHz processor and will be powered by Exynos 5240 chipset. An 8 MP rear-facing camera with LED flash, autofocus, face detection, touch focus and geo-tagging will be present. S4 Mini will be released in two variants codenamed GT-19100 and GT-19192, which will support single-SIM and dual-SIM respectively. Reportedly, another S4 Mini variant codenamed GT-19195 supporting 4G LTE is awaiting release this May.
The 3G model of S4 Mini will possess 1GB RAM and the 4G-LTE variant will feature 2GB RAM, both with extendable memory capacity of up to 32GB via card slot. The model will arrive in three different shades of blue, white and titan gray.
Reportedly, Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is another camera-intensive smartphone residing at the end of Samsung S4 series; rumors indicate that this camera-intensive S4 variant will feature a 16 MP camera with an advanced level of camera specs present in Galaxy S4.
