STATES CHRONICLE – Many homes for seniors has implemented a holiday program so that volunteers can bring a new ray of hope for the elderly this Christmas. Home Instead Senior Care is the center which implemented the program “Be a Santa to a Senior.” This program is bound to provide a lot of gifts and companionship for seniors who are in a home and who will not be visited by family and friends during this special season.
This fantastic program will be available in homes like Smith’s Food and Drug facility and Paradise Salon until December 8th. All shoppers could purchase gifts and ornaments for seniors, without worrying about wrapping. What is more, there is also an event for collecting clothes, bound to keep all homeless veterans warm during the holidays. Walton’s Funerals & Cremations is gathering old or new clothes prone to donate them to those in need.
All donations can be brought to any Walton’s location, and volunteers from there will be responsible for distributing the gifts to all local veterans. On December 9th, the 24th annual Share Your Christmas Drive-By Food Drive will gather non-perishable goods for all unprivileged locals. Food donations are welcomed at Genoa Volunteer Fire Department and the Carson Valley Inn in Minden to put a smile on everybody’s faces, helping all the locals in need.
This Christmas, a lot of volunteer groups and associations, are meant to enable good deeds, bringing hope through all their noble acts, remembering everybody that holidays are for sharing pleasant moments and caring about those who need the help of a peer. On November 30, Farmers Insurance developed a nation-wide campaign bound to collect suits, dresses, skirts and blazers for all veterans who returned to civilian life and want to find a suitable job.
Never forget that during holiday season children are the ones who need the most attention, being very anxious and wondering whether Santa forgets to put them on his list again this year. Try to bring joy in the bright eyes of children who expect a miracle every Christmas. Be their reason to smile by donating toys through the Collections for Toys for Tots. This program will develop in many counties, giving Americans the opportunity to help children in need.
