We had heard about Sony coming out with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for many of their handsets. One of the devices that figured in that list from Sony was the Xperia Ion. The list that Sony had officially released has been eight months now which means it has been a pretty long wait that users of the Xperia Ion had to endure before the update is finally made available. Yes, you guessed it right, the much awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update has been officially released by Sony.

xperia ion

The Xperia Blog now states that the update for the Xperia Ion handset would push the Android version to 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. For those technically inclined, the build version is 6.2.B.0.211. The ultimate or end effect of the update once installed on the Xperia Ion set is that the user would get almost the same features and feel that many of the latest Sony smartphones boasts of. In short, user would get many of the features of a Sony Xperia Z on the Xperia Ion after the update has been installed.

Users of the Xperia Ion would do well to get the update installed at the earliest. There is however some conflicting reports that have come in from users after the update. While few have reported that the update removed the lag effect which was existent on the set with the older version, others have stated its just the opposite that they have experienced. The lag was occurring when users were navigating to certain parts of the overall system available applications. It’s only time that will reveal which of the two sides is to be believed.

Or the best and the easiest way to find that out will be for the users of the said device to check out the end effects on their own.
