Do you like sweet things? 6 teaspoons of sugar per day are all you get

STATES CHRONICLE – We know that children love sweet things. They would eat chocolate all day if this was possible. However, we should pay more attention to how much sugar they are eating every day.  According to a new study, children and teenagers should not consume any more than 6 teaspoons of sugar per day. We know that this might be bad news for many of you, but if you want your kid to be healthy, you have to take care of his diet.

Dr. Miriam Vos, who was the author of the study, said that their target recommendation is the same of all children, even if they are 2 or 18 years-old. Doctors think six teaspoons of sugar per day is enough for a kid. Where can we find it? This ingredient can be found in table sugar, fructose, fast-food or soda. Moreover, the researchers said that children should not consume foods with added sugars before they are 2 years-old.

Parents should be the one taking care of their children’s diet. If this is not happening, you child could have obesity, diabetes or heart attacks. If your kid will eat too much fast food and drink soda, it is possible for him/her to have chronic diseases in the future. As a parent, make sure your child is eating fruits, vegetables, and products that don’t have so many calories. Moreover, diet is not the only problem. Children should exercise more if you don’t them  to struggle with obesity when they are getting older.

People do not pay attention to sugar and that is why it remains a common ingredient in foods and drinks. The average American child is consuming about triple the amount of added sugars than the doctors said. The good news is that from July 206 food products sold in the United States will have to show how much sugar they used.

Sugar can be tasty for the kids and we know that some products are good because they use this ingredient. However, we should be aware that most products which have sugar are responsible for obesity. Parents should be aware of this thing and they should give their children more fruits and vegetables instead of fast-food. This is the only way you children will be healthy and you will have no problem. Sugar might not be as sweet as it seems.
