An announcement from T-mobile on Friday stated that it will be helping Apple’s iphone 4s and iphone 5 from the zero-down promotion. However AT&T had other plans in mind and announced a shocking price deduction in iphones if they were purchased through its “next” subscription procedure. All this news was brought out by an internal document which also speculated that t-mobile was selectively removing iphone 4s and iphone 5 from its “dollar 0 down” sale in the summer sale on Saturday. It is said to have left only the iphone 4 available for the free sign up as reported by TMO news.
This document has led to the smart phones becoming ineligible for the “$0 down sale”. According to a previously revised structure the customers will now end up paying $145.99 for a 16 GB iphone 5 followed by a $21 payment every month for up to 24 months. Promotion news shows that such pricing moves are just temporary and a representative also gave his views stating that this is one of the most affordable ways of owning the latest iphone. However rumour speculates that T-mobile did not give in the explanation on its end as to why the two good iphones are being taken off the summer sale.
Thursday saw some strong results announcement from the CEO John Legere who also added that t-mobile’s performance was based on the company’s message and other services and not on the latest addition of iphone. Apple however played a fairly important role by accounting for around 21 percent t-mobile’s smart phone sales for the quarter. As a fight back to the t-mobiles, the US no.2 carrier AT&T came up with a discount on iphones which were meant to be offered through the “next” plan of the company. Users have given this step thumbs up as they do not have to pay a dime upfront and can get the phone for just $ 0down but have to pay up the amount in 20 monthly installments of $ 27.
