Amazon Fire Phone 2 Announced For 2016

December 22, 2014 By Deborah Cobing Leave a Comment

Amazon Fire Phone 2
When Amazon announced that it is working on a smartphone, the tech world was more than excited to see how that will turn out to be. Amazon has come up with the best e-readers, the Kindle, so many assumed that their phone will be something completely special. It turned out, the Fire Phone was a total failure, both financially and critically.
Now, the giant online retailer has announced they will return to the phone market, and possibly make up for their past mistakes with the new Amazon Fire Phone 2.

Tech experts are already theorizing about Amazon’s next attempt to matter in the smart mobile devices field. They say there could be two scenarios on how this will turn out. Amazon Fire Phone 2 can be a very successful smartphone or just another flop, like the previous Fire Phone. Others believe that Amazon should quit altogether trying to build smartphones because it’s just not their thing.

One of the reasons the first Amazon smartphone was not warmly received was its price. When it first appeared on the market the Fire Phone cost $649. People were not convinced of its specifications and did not believe the Amazon phone was as good as an iPhone for this price. Two months after the Fire Phone was launched, and following the poor sales, its price dropped to $230 for the unlocked version. Now it can also be bought on contract for only $0.99.
Amazon admitted they made a big mistake setting the price of the phone so high and said that they had different expectations from their first smartphone.

Although the online retailer has not disclosed any information about the design or the price of their new phone, they have made public some details about the Amazon Fire Phone. The phone’s software will include many system updates and they will fix the phone on order to get rid of all the bugs that were on the first Amazon phone.
Amazon also said that the new Fire Phone 2 will have a language update and will be able to translate texts from English, French, Italian, Spanish and German. Amazon Fire Phone 2 is expected to be released somewhere in 2016.

Amazon Diaper Collection Coming Soon

December 5, 2014 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

amazon diapers
Amazon has announced that it’s preparing to launch a new kind of business. The Amazon diaper collection and other baby cleaning products like wipes will be available exclusively for members who have a Prime subscription. The new collection will attract more shoppers to sign up for their $99 annual subscription, some say.

The new line of Amazon diaper products is part of a business called Amazon Elements which has been selling patio furniture, bath and bedding items for some time. The Amazon Basics line of products includes home and office products, tablets, e-readers, Fire smartphones and smart TVs.

The Seattle-based giant online retailer has been investing a lot of money in its loyalty programme called Prime, with more than 40 million subscribers at the moment. The Prime programme features Sunday delivery, grocery delivery service and music streaming. Prime subscribers also get original TV shows, like the very popular and critically well-received “Transparent” show.

Amazon said that the Elements line provides high-quality products. The Amazon diaper is 10% more expensive than a regular diaper.
Sunny Jain, Vice President of Amazon consumables said in a statement:

“The two things customers told us they want are premium products that meet their high standards, and access to information so they can make informed decisions.”

The Amazon diaper line is part of a new strategy that Amazon is trying to implement. Analysts believe that the consumer products market is growing very fast and Amazon is trying to take advantage of that at its maximum potential. Also, analysts said that Amazon’s own consumer products business is doing very well and will continue to grow in the next couple of years.

The new Amazon diaper collection will be consumer-oriented and Amazon said that the diapers and other baby products will have all the ingredients and production information available for anyone to read. Also, each new product from the Amazon Elements line can be scanned using an Amazon app for more details.
Amazon said that it wants to appeal to shoppers who are interested in product transparency and ethical product manufacturing.

New Kindle Voyage Rumors

September 17, 2014 By Janet Vasquez Leave a Comment

The rumors about Amazon working on a new Kindle device is not something new, but recently the rumors are becoming more and more official. According to some Amazon websites, Kindle may soon have a new baby brother, or sister, called Kindle Voyage. Rumors say that the new device will be on the market in the next couple of months. Supposedly it will have a 6 inch screen and a new way to turn the page. The last rumor sounds really interesting.

According to Amazon Germany and Amazon Japan, a new device is in the works at the moment and it’s called Kindle Voyage. But Amazon took removed the information as soon as some tech publications found out about the new product.

On those Amazon sites it said that the Kindle Voyage will feature a 6 inch display and will be launched on the 4th of November. There aren’t any photos of the new Kindle on any of the Amazon pages but other specifications include a 3G and a Wi-Fi connectivity. Another exciting new feature that the Kindle Voyage will have is how the user will move to the next page. We are really interested to find out more about this feature.

It doesn’t come as a surprise that Amazon is working on a new Kindle, as the company has been offering updates on their e-readers every year. The last update was in November 2013 when they launched the 3G version of the Kindle PaperWhite, so it’s about time for a new update.

If Amazon is planning to release the Kindle Voyage in the near future, a release date for US is yet to be known. But as we know, Amazon has launched international versions of their products before launching it in the US so it wouldn’t surprise us to launch Kindle Voyage before in other countries and then launch it in the US.

We will keep you updated.

#AmazonCart Lets You Buy Amazon Products From Twitter

May 5, 2014 By Janet Vasquez Leave a Comment

#amazoncart twitterAmazon has been in the spotlight pretty much lately, especially because they’ve expanded their usual online retail services to other fields like grocery delivery, Amazon TV and the upcoming Amazon smartphone. Last week the big news was that Amazon updated their giant online store with a new section: Amazon Wearable Technology, a section designed especially for wearable smart devices like smartwatches and fitness trackers. Today, the latest Amazon news, is about the giant retailer announcing that it will be possible to purchase Amazon products directly from your Twitter account. How does that work? While browsing and posting on your Twitter you see an Amazon link to a product that caught your interest. You can save the item to your Amazon cart without leaving your Twitter account. Then you need to reply with the hashtag #AmazonCart and you’re done. The item you purchased will be added to your Amazon shopping cart. This new feature will save you some time because you will no longer have to click the link and add the product to the cart manually. You will need to have your Twitter account connected to Amazon in order for the new service to function. If you’re not connected, you will be asked to connect the accounts for the new feature #AmazonCart to be enabled.

Once you’ve added the item to your Amazon cart, you will receive a reply tweet from @MyAmazon and an email. Those living in the UK can use the new hashtag feature by using #AmazonBasket, starting today.

It’s important to mention that if you reply with #AmazonCart hashtag you will just save the product to your Amazon cart, it doesn’t mean that you actually bought the item. You will still need to go to Amazon to complete your purchase, just as you usually do. If you change your mind about buying it, you can always remove it from the cart.

The new #AmazonCart hashtag feature will be very helpful for Twitter users, but we do have a small warning: if you’re considering buying gifts or products that you might feel embarrassed about, using the new Amazon feature will make all your purchases visible on your Twitter account, unless your account is private.

Amazon New Feature: #AmazonCart

This is not the first hashtag related feature Amazon introduces; last year they announced a similar feature which allowed American Express card users purchase products from Amazon using different specific hashtags.

Amazon Wearable Technology New Section Announced – For Wearable Gadgets

May 3, 2014 By Janet Vasquez Leave a Comment

Amazon Wearable TechnologyThe giant online retailer has been in the spotlight quite a lot recently. They have a new 3-D smartphone coming soon, they released their version of streaming device, the Amazon TV and they’ve expanded their services with a grocery delivering system called Amazon Prime Pantry. It’s time for another announcement: the Amazon Wearable Technology new section that is meant for wearable gadgets from every major company and startups.

Even though wearables are not as big as smartphones or other smart mobile devices (tablets, phablets, laptops) they are catching up. The advanced technology used for these wearable gadgets is more than promising. Major companies like Samsung, Google, Sony and Nike, all have tried their luck with the new wearable technology field. It’s just a matter of time until Amazon will announce their own wearable gadget, but until then, the world’s largest online retail store is just helping the new technology to become more popular among techies and to simplify online shopping.

The new store called Amazon Wearable Technology will give users a wide variety of brands, from Samsung, GoPro and Jawbone and also products from startups like Misfit and Basis. And basically everything in between. The wearable tech is not something that appeared recently, it has been around for more than a decade, but lately it has drawn more attention than ever. This attention made famous brands get involved in the new industry. Amazon also has a new Learning Center for those who are not really familiar with wearables. This includes detailed guides, product videos, suggestions and comparisons from other customers.

John Nemeth, Director of Wireless and Mobile Electronics at Amazon said that: “Wearable technology is an exciting category with rapid innovation and our customers are increasingly coming to Amazon to shop and learn about these devices. We’re thrilled to bring our customers a store with the largest selection and great prices that helps eliminate the guesswork when deciding which wearable devices best fit their needs-whether that is tracking activity, staying connected through smart watches or capturing their next adventure with wearable cameras.”

Amazon Wearable Technology New Section – the wearables haven

The Amazon new category has already made Pebble’s smartwatch, receiving great reviews from customers and analysts. From now on we will have all the wearable gadgets under one roof. This will most certainly simplify comparing and purchasing new products. You can visit the Amazon Wearable Technology here.

So what do you think on the new initiative from Amazon? Are you familiar with the wearable gadgets?
