Apple Reveals New iPad Mini 3, 27-Inch iMac With 5K Display and Apple Pay

October 17, 2014 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

Apple has announced more countries that will get the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, this week and yesterday it revealed more additions to its growing family of devices. During the Media Event Apple has revealed the new iPad Mini 3, the 27-inch iMac with 5K display and Apple Pay. Let’s take a quick look at these devices and see what the fuss is all about.

iPad Mini 3

iPad Mini 3 got its own fingerprint reader, the Touch ID! It was about time Touch ID came to the iPads, don’t you think? The new iPad Mini 3 also comes in the color gold, which was pretty much expected. Other than that, there isn’t much to say about it. Granted, it’s got a better wireless, but the display is the same as it is on the iPad Mini 2 (which is now the official name for the iPad Mini with Retina Display) and so is the A7 chip.

27-Inch iMac With 5K Display

The most stunning reveal was definitely the 27-inch iMac with 5k display. The display is one of the most stunning displays ever created. It has a resolution of 5,120 x 2,880 with 14.7 million pixels, four times more than what the standard iMac has. You also get a 3.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 for the standard model, as well as 8GB of memory and a 1TB Fusion Drive. All this greatness for a great price: $2,499 (for the standard iMac)!

Apple Pay

We’ve talked about Apple Pay before, but now we’ve got a date for it! October 20 is when it is going to become available, along with the update for the iOS 8.1. Apple Pay allows its users to make payments with their smartphones. You don’t even have to open an app to make a payment, you simply present your iPhone, authenticate the payment with your finger and then you get a gentle vibration that tells you the payment was approved. Pretty smart, don’t you think?

Keep your eyes peeled, because we’ve got more! Two more devices will be presented in a new article here on States Chronicle, the new iPad Air 2, Mac Mini and the update to OS X Yosemite!

Apple Pay Service Will Make Mobile Payments a Breeze

October 13, 2014 By James Faulkner Leave a Comment

Apple seems to be moving at the speed of light with its device launches and software updates. It was announced last week that the next Apple media event would happen on October 16; Apple is scheduled to launch their new iPad Air 2 and even their iPad Mini 3. Today, we’re going to take a look at a new service from apple that is going to make mobile payments a breeze: the Apple Pay service.

Apple Pay Service – Coming This Week

Sources are saying that the new Apple Pay service will be made available this week, after the Apple media event which is going to take place this Thursday. The service is going to make shopping easy-as-pie because you won’t even have to take your credit card out of the wallet.

Everything will be stored inside your Passbook and Apple Pay app: your credit card information and bank info. To complete a purchase inside an actual store, iPhone owners will just have to hold their phone over the contactless readers and touch the fingerprint sensor on their smartphone. You won’t even have to open an app or even wake your display. All this is possible thanks to the NFC antenna (near field communication) that is present inside iPhone 6. And to make things even more unbelievable, you won’t even have to check your screen to see if the transaction was successful, your phone will vibrate gently!

Apple Pay Service

Android users already have Google Wallet, but it seems that Apple Pay is going to something else entirely. It was one month that Apple announced the Apple Pay service and now iPhone lovers are getting ready to change the way they do their shopping for good.

Share your thoughts on the Apple Pay service in the comment section below, we love hearing from our readers.
