Apple Might Not Have Enough iPad Mini 2 Stock to Meet Holiday Demand

October 30, 2013 By Janet Vasquez Leave a Comment

With the holiday season just round the corner, there is the inevitable increase in demand for products in the smartphone and mobile line of stuff that is expected to shoot up. This is the time when buying frenzy is at its peak while manufacturers too make sure they have enough of stock to meet consumer demands. Companies also time their product releases to ensure they are able to derive the maximum mileage from the shopping season. Case in point, Apple launching their latest iPhone and iPad line of products.

ipad mini

The Apple product line up this year can be considered ‘complete’ in that all of their iPhone and iPad devices now have the Retina display on them. This is especially welcome for the iPad Mini 2 which in its first iteration was so famously lacking a high resolution display. However, its also here that there does lie an anomaly of sorts. This since the making of the Retina display itself is a time consuming process and that has lead to Apple facing constraints in meeting demands at large. This would only increase with the holiday shopping time arriving close at hand. For this reason Apple has not even announced any pre-order schedule for their iPad Mini 2 device as yet. The date of 01 November which had been talked about earlier being the launch date of the iPad Mini 2 has not even been confirmed by the CEO, Tim Cook.

Steve Milunovich had asked a specific question to Tim Cook on the release date, to which Tim replied that they were not even sure about being able to meet demands of the set for the quarter. Tim however did not give any direct response to the question on availability. He only said that they believe they have a good selling period with its iPad Mini and other devices.

There are sets being sold at premium price by buyers who have picked up the unit at the time of launch. These are only meant for those who are overtly keen to own one and have the wherewithal in the financial context to shell out the extravagantly high price that such sets are coming for.

T-Mobile Unveils Installment Payment Option for iPad Air and iPad Mini 2 With No Down Payment

October 25, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

iPad Air and iPad Mini 2 with the Retina display is being offered by T-Mobile under a special program. Buyers have the option to pay in installments spread over two years with no down payment. Customers would also get 200 MB of data usage per month for the entire lifetime of the slate. The offer is titled “Un-carrier 3.0 Part II”. Fortunately for the Android addicts, the deal is not an iPad exclusive but is also available for Android tablets as well. Customers would also benefit from reduced rates for data usage beyond the 200 MB mark.

t-mobile

Subscribers of T-Mobile who do not wish to opt for off-contract packages also have the option of going for the 500 MB of LTE service on  daily pass for 5$. After consuming the 500 MB users would yet have unlimited internet connectivity though at lower speeds. Users can also opt for 10 GB of LTE at $10 with unlimited connectivity beyond that at lower speeds.

For those opting for T-Mobile’s voice services, a $10 plan gives the user 500 MB of additional LTE data and followed by unlimited usage though at reduced speeds. Users can shell out $10 for 2 GB packages of LTE speed whenever they so desire. There is also an option of $30 for 2.5 GB per month of LTE and $40 for 4.5 GB of LTE speeds per month.

For those looking to pay in installments, the iPad Air would come for $26.25 per month in the 16 GB variant and the iPad Mini with Retina display would come for $22.08 per month. The plans would run for two years. To compare costs, the iPad Mini without Retina display comes for $17.91 per month in installment scheme.

Android devices that can be picked up under this scheme are the Nexus 7 for $16 per month and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.10.1 for $19 per month. All these schemes have the same no down payment requirement clause to them. T-Mobile scheme also includes buy back scheme and tablets with just Wi-Fi would also fetch some buy back amount to be adjusted against the new tablet.

These schemes are going to be available from November 1.

New iPad 5 And iPad Mini 2 Release Date Expected Soon, Well Before The Holiday Season

October 6, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson 2 Comments

Apple has already launched the new iOS 7 which can well be considered a significant development considering this is the first time the company’s mobile operating system has been provided with a thorough once over. That is not all for we have already seen the California company launch two new iPhone versions, the flagship iPhone 5s as well the budget oriented iPhone 5c which is another first for the company. That is not the end of it all as there still are plenty more to look forward to, what with the new iPad 5 as well as the iPad Mini 2 still forthcoming from Apple.

New iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5 are both a continuation series of sorts, of their previous respective sibling models. Also, being the next generation models, they are expected to come with additional features.

apple-ipad-5-vs-ipad-mini-2

Given the past trend of Apple and their product launch practice, it has been noticed that after the iPhone 5 had been launched there was the iPad 4 and iPad Mini that they launched soon after and before the holiday season. This year too shouldn’t be any exception and now that there already is the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in the market, the iPad tablet series shouldn’t be too far off.

The most interesting feature of the iPad Mini 2 is going to be its retina display. And so far as the iPad 5 goes it would be advanced hardware of the device that consumers are looking out for. It would also be a new look and design of the iPad 5 that should give consumers a point to buy the device. Thinner bezels along the sides as well as an overall reduction is size will no doubt further enhance the appeal of the Apple flagship tablet. Also, there is no reason to believe both the tablets won’t be provided with a big performance push with the new A7 chip likely to be at the center of it all.

Another side effect that consumers can expect due the launch of the new Apple products would be a lowered price tag of the existing models from Apple. New buyers could expect to get their iPad 4 and the iPad Mini at reduced rates now with the new products being launched.

Apple iPad Mini, Don’t buy it as New iPad Mini 2 Release Date Near

September 30, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

Apple iPad Mini has been one of the best selling devices from the Apple camp ever since it was launched in October last year. Its compact dimensions coupled to its thin and light attributes ensured it quickly rose to the top of the consumer tablet preference and continues to remain there even after almost a year of being in service.

During the time, it had to wade off competition from the likes of devices such as the Nexus 7 or the Kindle Fire HD, all quite capable devices in their own right. No wonder the Apple table continues to be in demand even now, almost a year after it was first launched. However, it might still not be the best time to pick up on the iPad Mini.

Here is why.

iPad Mini

The biggest reason here is that a new version of the iPad Mini, the new iPad Mini 2 release date should be just weeks away from a formal launch.

Of course Apple is yet to confirm the above though rumors have been busy predicting an October release for the new iPad Mini. That is not without reason though, as the current version is quickly approaching its first anniversary, which makes it ready for a replacement. That it would feature quite a few advancements over the current version is all too obvious. What makes us crave for the new iPad series even more is the latest iPhone versions which come packed by a 64 bit A7 chips.

Also, the current iPad Mini does not have a Retina Display, something that can be considered its greatest drawback. With Google already improving on this with the new Nexus 7 that comes with a pixel rich display, the onus is now on Apple is match the same with a retina display for the next iPad Mini version. However, just in case the iPad Mini 2 does not come with the display that is being hoped for, the iPad Mini would have slashed price by then. So buyer would get a cheaper iPad Mini at that time.

The iPad Mini 2 has some other aspects for which it would be wiser to wait for and check out prior deciding on the iPad Mini right away. With Apple launching the iOS 7 also which would have support for the finger print scanning and security feature in it, the iPad Mini 2 is all probability would have that feature on it also. iPad Mini 2 should also have a better camera given the fact that Apple every year comes up with a better camera on its devices.

Apple iPad 5 Release Date on October 15, No Sign of iPad Mini 2

September 28, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

In the past months, tech blogs have been talking a lot about the iPad Mini 2 but nothing much has been said about the iPad 5 release date.

Well, the recent news is that Apple may likely announce the release date of iPad 5 in October. Still, we don’t have any concrete information on Apple iPad Mini 2 release date.

According to many tech analysts, it does not seem that Apple will be launching the Retina Display version of iPad Mini 2 any time soon. The mini tablet is expected to come out of the closet in the first quarter of 2014. Still there are many analysts who are contradicting the news and speculate that the iPad Mini 2 will arrive before the year comes to an end.

ipad 5 smart covers

In the next month, an Apple event is going to be held on October 15th. It is anticipated that Apple will launching new iPads during this event. Now many tech experts are confirming on the fact that the iPad 5 will release on Oct 15th but the release of the iPad Mini 2 will be purchased further to occur sometime later. Low manufacturing volumes of iPad Mini displays are said to be the issue that has caused such a delay.

Some even predict that iPad Mini 2 with Retina Display will be unveiled on Oct 15th but the release date of the tablet will happen later in this year or in the first quarter of 2014. The iPad 5 rumors which has suddenly become stronger than ever before indicate that the Oct 15 will be the day it will be unveiled.

Recently, a new video was found doing rounds on the web. It shows Smart Covers that have been specially designed for iPad 5. Smart Covers are covers for iPads that have been produced by Apple. The new covers do not appear quite different from the covers made for older iPads. However, this time around, the Smart Covers are available in wide range of colors like red, pink, grey, orange, green, white, black and blue. The only major difference between the new Smart Covers and the ones that were made for iPad 4 is that they are quite thinner.

The arrival of the new video clear points to the fact that new iPad 5 is soon to arrive and notably the device is thinner and lighter than the predecessor model. The October 15 date is not too far now and hopefully very soon iPad 5 and iPad Mini will be unveiled. In the meantime, it would be great to see what you think about the new iPads.

Are you waiting for Retina Display powered iPad Mini 2 to arrive? Will it be able to compete well with Google Nexus 7 and the recently launched Surface tablets? Do let us know your views in the comments section.

iPad Mini 2 Release Date and Rumored Features Discussed

September 24, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

The much hyped iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C have released. Now, Apple may announce the arrival two of its other major products namely, iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5. On Sept 10 which was the launch day for iPhone 5S and IPhone 5C, the Cupertino firm had also announced iOS7 but they did not talk anything about forthcoming iPad models.

Apple has not rolled any information on the next gen tablets but it is certain that they are going to release new iPads very soon. In 2012, Apple had revealed iPad Mini and iPad 4 before the beginning of vacation period. Apple skipped the announcement of next gen iPads in March and with the year entering its last quarter, it is certain that Apple may soon announce the new iPad models.

ipad_mini_2

We feel that Apple will hold the media event for iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5 in October and one week prior to the event, the company will send out invites for the event. October 15 is rumored to be the launch date of iPad Mini 2. The iPad Mini was announced in the month of October in 2012

Apple did not offer Retina Display on the original iPad Mini. It is being rumored that the design of the iPad Mini 2 will be similar to that of original device. This means Apple is going to work in boosting the hardware of the device. One of the most requested and a major feature that is expected to come with iPad Mini 2 is Retina Display. The product will also come with enhanced camera and processor.

Apple surprised the tech world by not announcing pre-order date for iPhone 5S. In the past, Apple has allowed prospective customers to place pre-orders before the release date. By the way, Apple has allowed pre-orders for iPhone 5C. So, it is difficult to predict whether Apple will offer pre-orders for iPad Mini 2.

As far as priced is concerned, we predict that the Cupertino company will offer a starting price of 330USD for 16GB Wi-Fi edition. The pricing of the other variants will more or less same as the price it has offered previously.

iPad 5 Release Date and iPad Mini 2 Leaks Discussed

September 22, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

All the rumors and speculations that have been holding forth for the past few months have come to a halt with Apple finally unveiling the latest iPhone versions. However, this can well be considered to be just the beginning as Apple has several more to pamper us in the coming weeks. What started with the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c can well end with the OS X Maverick as well as a new MacBook Pro with the new iPad devices thrown in between. Of course a surprise or two from the Cupertino company can’t be ruled out altogether as Apple is also rumored to come with a new Apple TV as well along with maybe an Apple 4K TV too.

ipad

However, coming back to what seems more imminent, the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2, both has gone through another round of leak. And who best could have pulled off the feat than the man of the moment, Sonny Dickson who is already credited with having accurately predicted the latest iPhone devices. The basic strategy too is the same with the latest leaks as here too Dickson is depending on the rear shells to conclude what the devices will ultimately be like.

So what can be concluded with a fair degree of surety is that the new iPad 5 release date will be seen sporting a similar design philosophy as the iPad Mini characterized by thinner bezels along the sides. The new full sized iPad will also be a bit smaller along the sides than its predecessor thereby giving the impression of it incorporating a smaller display though the fact is, it will still be offering a 9.7 inch sized screen. The iPad Mini 2 though will be similar to what the first gen version was though the biggest change it will be coming with be the inclusion of a retina display. In any case, Apple is likely to depend on anodized aluminum for its rear shell.

Apple though is yet to reveal any firm dates for the launch of the new iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2 though what seems imminent is that we are just weeks away from being treated with the brand new tablet devices.

iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 Release Date on Oct 15 by Apple?

September 19, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

If rumors currently doing the rounds are to be believed, Apple has lined up an event on the 15th of October. The Cupertino based company is expected to launch its new generation iPad devices this fall and the October 15 period could mark the release date of iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2.

Of course Apple hasn’t endorsed any of this so far. Further, that this bit of news has to be taken with a pinch of salt is evident from the fact that it has its origins in the French site Mac Generation that has to its credit both hits and misses in equal measure when it comes to Apple predictions.

Apple

Apple so far has not confirmed when it is going to launch its next gen iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 devices, except that those can be expected towards fall. In fact, Apple hasn’t even confirmed if there will indeed be a new iPad Mini 2 up for launch this fall though an iPad 5 is almost a surety. Another area of uncertainty surrounding the new iPad Mini is whether it will include a retina display if it is launched this year.

Apple has just launched the new iPhone 5 devices, the 5s and 5c though another event planned just about a month later can’t be ruled out. The company has followed a somewhat similar itinerary last year when it had launched the iPhone 5 in September followed by a more elaborate launch event that yielded the new iPad, and Mac devices along with of course the new iPad Mini for the first time. Apple is also scheduled to launch the new OS X Maverick this year and it could well be included in the Oct 15 event as well.

However, in the end, let’s not forget all of this is still in the rumor stages and nothing stands confirmed regarding the iPad 5 release date.

iPad Mini 2 Release Date to Arrive Soon, Fresh Photos Surfaces

September 18, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

These days the tech world is talking a lot about iOS powered devices. The iPad 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C and the iPad Mini 2 is slated to release soon. Out of these, the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C are set to arrive in the next month. The release date of iPad and the iPad Mini 2 is still not confirmed.

Even though there has been no official announcement on the iPad Mini 2 release date, we can see a lot of leaked photos on the internet of the next gen iPad Mini. In the past week, we had been talking a lot about iPhone 5S and the low-budget iPhone 5C and now the iPad Mini 2 has started hogging the limelight with freshly leaked images.

ipad mini 2

According to the recent rumors, the iPad Mini 2 release will happen after the release of the much hyped forthcoming iPhone models. Both the iPhones are going to be launched on September 10. As of now, Apple Inc has refrained from talking on the official release date of iPad Mini 2. However, the tech world feels that the iPad Mini 2 will come out in October.

There are mixed rumors going on about the next gen iPad Mini because some rumors say that the iPad Mini 2 will come out with Retina Display. The display technology was not available on the original iPad Mini. Other rumors say that Apple was in the plans to launch the iPad Mini next year but because Retina Display won’t be available on the forthcoming model, Apple is planning to release it soon.

The original iPad Mini was brought out in the market in November. So, some experts feel that even the next gen iPad Mini will come out in November. We have got for you recently leaked photos of iPad Mini. It only shows you the back shell which is in silver color. You can see the Apple logo placed right at the middle. At the corner on the rear side, you can see an opening for the rear camera. There are holes for accessing the orientation lock and volume controllers as well.

If you go by these recent photos, Apple has got nothing new with the design of the iPad Mini 2. Even if you hadn’t seen the pics we added here, you would have guessed the design. The Retina Display will be powered with a powerful CPU which will help in producing higher ppi count.

ipad mini 2 photo

Already one of the major competitors of iPad Mini 2 has entered the market. We are talking about the Google Nexus 7 2013. The new Nexus 7 is currently leading the tablet world. Apple’s iPad Mini 2 another major competitor is also gearing up to make its way into the market. Now, we are talking about the Amazon Kindle Fire models. The iPad Mini 2 has already got some competitors lined up.

Apple is also going to release the next generation iPad 5 soon. The design of the device is going to be somewhat similar to that of iPad Mini. Anyway, both the devices are slated to release alongside each other later this year.

iPad 5, iPad Mini 2: Release Dates, Recent Rumors of Apple Tablets

September 10, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

There is a lot of excitement that the upcoming release date dates of Apple tablet devices have generated, and rightfully so in light of the immense popularity that these enjoy. Adding fuel to the fire is the recent spate of rumors concerning the iPad 5 as well as the iPad Mini 2 that have hit the virtual world.

Take for instance the most recent of these that provides us with a generous glimpse of what to expect with the next generation Apple tablets. While there is no dearth of rumors centered on the new iPad range, the latest of these courtesy of Sonny Dickson does provide some new light on what the new Apple tablet will be like from a design perspective.

Apple-iPad-5

Now Sonny Dickson is a name that has become synonymous to leaks on all things Apple. He manages to do that by maintaining close contacts not with Apple directly but with the people who supply Apple the components that go into the making of their final products. Off late, Sonny has posted some pictures that give us a clear proof of the iPad 5 being significantly smaller in size compared to the iPad 4. The picture is much like a comparator with the iPad 5 set above the iPad 4 and the difference is quite distinct and evident.

The difference in the design is the significantly narrow bezel that the iPad 5 incorporates. This makes the tablet as a whole as well as the display look smaller even though in reality the actual display screen are of the same dimension. The difference in bezel is only on the sides and not for the top and bottom of the device. The power button appears to be smaller in the photo and volume as well as orientation keys have been given a different shape which is more akin to the iPad Mini.

Coming to the thickness aspect of the two, what is also evident from the leaked images is that the iPad 5 will also be thinner than the iPad 4. The speakers have been left at the back of the set as in the case of iPad 4 albeit the grilles have been given an additional angular layout.

As for the release date of the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2, the widely accepted viewpoint is that Apple will be releasing them during fall though there are no specific launch dates available as yet. Apple has an event lined up on September 10 though that is likely to be reserved exclusively to the iPhone 5 and the budget iPhone 5C release date.
