Amazon Kindle Fire Price Drops, Hinting the Arrival of New Kindle Fire Models

August 27, 2013 By Troy Rubenson 2 Comments

We have been hearing a lot about Amazon working on the release of new Amazon Kindle Fire models. However, there has been no official announcement on it. Still, the rumors about the arrival of new Kindle Fire models are getting hotter and hotter.

Amazon has now announced price reduction on all the existing models which indicates that soon they will be replaced by new models. The existing entry-level Kindle Fire will be available at a low price of 159USD which means Amazon has reduced the price of the device by 40USD.

Amazon needs to slot their new set of tablets well because the Google Nexus 7 has already arrived and is currently leading the 7inch tablets category. The next edition of Apple iPad mini is also going to arrive by the end of this year or at the beginning months of 2014. So, it would be good for Amazon to launch its tablet very soon before the Apple iPad Mini 2 arrives.

In the previous months, there were lots of rumors going around about the forthcoming Amazon Kindle Fire tablets. According to the rumor mill, Amazon is believed to be working on high resolution tablets. Also, the details about the new tablets revealed that these devices will be powered with quad-core 800 CPU from Qualcomm. Only by considering high resolution display and quad-core CPU, tech analysts were considering that these new line of tablets from Amazon is going to give serious competition to the Google Nexus 7.

Yesterday the tech world came to know much more about the new line of tablets from Amazon. The entry level Kindle Fire tablet which stole the limelight last year is going to come to with impressive specs. The Kindle Fire will be powered with 1.5GHz dual-core OMAP4 4470CPU. It will also come with PowerVR SGX544 GPU.

By going by the specs of the new entry-level Kindle Fire, it is going to run on the same chipset that powers the old Kindle Fire HD tablets of previous year. This seems to be a good upgrade from the old 1.2GHz OMAP4  4430CPU which powers the existing entry-level Kindle Fire. Also, the benchmark tests conducted on the new model shows its performance is twice better than last year’s model.

The Kindle Fire which is going to be released will be the last tablet from Amazon to come with T1 CPUs. New reports reveal that in the forthcoming year, the entry-level slate from Amazon will run on quad-core MediaTek 8135 CPU.

The third gen Kindle Fire which is expected to arrive soon will be sporting 1GB RAM. The Kindle Fire HD models will get a boost of 2GB RAM. All the three models are going to be powered with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. The Kindle Fire model will feature HD quality display resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Also, the entry-level model will put on the design of the previous year’s Kindle Fire HD tablets. It is also rumored that Amazon will be releasing two storage variants of 16GB and 32GB.

Amazon to Launch A line of Kindle Fire Tablets

August 1, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

The new Google Nexus 7 which was released recently is the currently the best tablet available in the market. However, soon after the launch of 2nd generation Nexus 7, Amazon announced the arrival of new Kindle Fire tablets. It means Amazon is not going to launch just one device but it has got couple of new Kindle Fire devices under its sleeves.

The new line of Kindle Fire tablets will be sporting a different kind of display which will offer higher resolution. It will also come with high performance CPUs. According to a recent report, Amazon will be launching newer editions of Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD. Both the devices will be priced lower than the recently released Google Nexus 7.kindle-fire-hd-89

Kindle Fire tablets from Amazon are available in three different variants namely, 7inch Kindle Fire, 7inch Kindle Fire HD and 8.9inch Kindle Fire HD. So, we can understand that Amazon will be releasing upgraded versions of all the three devices.

The current Kindle Fire HD which has got a display resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels will be replaced by a newer Kindle Fire HD with a display resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The current 8.9inch Kindle Fire HD which has got a display resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels will be replaced by a newer 8.9inch Kindle Fire HD  with a display resolution of 2560x 1600 pixels. So, we can also expect that the low end 7 inch Kindle Fire that has 1024 x 600 pixels will be replaced by a Kindle Fire that has 1280 x 800 pixels.

The new line of Kindle Fire devices is not just about better displays but it also about enhanced performance. The new HD tablets will be powered with quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU and 2GB RAM. Like always, the new Kindle Fire devices will run on modified edition of Android that will come with support for Amazon App Store.

The forthcoming Kindle Fire devices will allow users to connect to the internet over dualband Wi-Fi. With Dolby Audio speakers onboard, users will be able to enjoy listening to music and watching movies on the new Kindle Fire variants. Like before, the Kindle Fire devices will continue to offer 10 or higher hours of battery life.

The new Silk internet browser powered with Amazon Cloud server will also be available on the new tablets. Each of the new Kindle Fire tablets will be available in three storage variants namely, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB.

Amazon is yet to release exact info on the specs of the forthcoming Kindle Fire tablets. However, going by the recent rumors, we can feel that the new tablets from Amazon surely appear to be very promising. Also, Amazon is yet to release info on the price of these devices. If the cost of the new tablets is somewhat similar to that Google Nexus 7 and current line-up, one should consider buying the new Kindle Fire tablet.

What do you think about the new Kindle Fire line-up? Can it compete with the likes of Google Nexus 7 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3? Do let us know your views.
