Google Launcher Now Exclusive to Only the Nexus 5

November 7, 2013 By Janet Vasquez Leave a Comment

Nexus 5 may well become a favored smartphone of Google if the report about Google launcher being available only on the Nexus 5 turns out to be true. Verge has brought out this piece of information and they claim they have it from Google direct. The Android 4.4 KitKat OTA update for the Nexus 4 is going to happen soon and then it would be proved if this bit of information from Verge is fact or fiction. If it turns out to be true, then Nexus 5 would no more be an android but rather a Google phone.

nexus-5

Nexus smartphones are being sold not only by Google alone, but by many other smartphone makers. All these Nexus build smartphones have the particular feature that they are pure Android so far as their functioning goes. Some of the vendors however add their own customization to the Nexus variant that they are selling. If Google applies this customized launcher function to the Nexus 5, then it would lose its pure Nexus status.

Verge in its report written by Dieter Bohn mentions about this pure Android look and feel aspect in all the Nexus handsets launched by Google till now. They provide a clean and real feel of Android the report mentions. By adding this exclusive launcher feature in just the Nexus 5, Google would be moving away from their laid down pure Android path.

There is a possibility that the launcher would soon find a place in Google Play Store for other Android users’ to download and install. But as of now it is an exclusive to Nexus 5 feature. There is also the possibility as yet of the Nexus 4 coming with the launcher.

Google Nexus 5 Tipped to be Launched on Nov 1

October 28, 2013 By Deborah Cobing Leave a Comment

The next gen Google Nexus 5 has been the talk of the mobile world for quite some time now. It’s going to be the next big thing to come our way after the launch of the Apple iPhone 5s and 5c, and probably the last of the smartphone heavyweights to see the light of day before 2013 draws to a close. Speculation, leaks and the likes are many to read from and learn something about the device. Google though has been tight lipped about the project and even dates of its release have been kept under tight wraps. The latest talk therefore centers around this aspect.

google-nexus-5

Evleaks, who has quite a fame for correct advance information and that too without any official backing to support their claims, have indicated the 1st of November as the D-day for the Nexus 5 to be eventually unleashd. The phone is being made by LG who also have not let out any indication of these details. It is but quite natural to assume that Google would be selling the device via their PlayStore site and rumors had indicated Canada to be the first place where the gadget would be sold initially.

With the date drawing closer, leaked images of the device are also finding their place in greater number on the net. There is one which shows the device to have a white back-panel. Google had erroneously placed their device on the Google Play store only to be pulled off very shortly thereafter. These present images posted by Evleaks appear to be the same ones. A white Nexus had been discussed via a Korean website sometime back. So this present leak does appear to have some precedence if not substance.

Just to sum up the details of the device from all the leaks that have been available, the device would come with a 5 inch display. It is going to have a 2 MP camera up front along with a 13 MP camera at the rear. The OS would be Android KitKat which is going to be the brand new version of the Android operating system. Pricing is expected to be around $349 for the 16 GB variant.

Google Nexus 5: All The Latest Rumors

October 9, 2013 By Deborah Cobing Leave a Comment

We are fast approaching the period that is expected to yield the next Nexus device considering the current version is almost a year old now though unfortunately, we don’t yet know for sure when exactly the new Nexus 5 is set to be unveiled. A precise release date isn’t the only missing piece of the puzzle that the Nexus 5 is right now given the complete lack of any other officially approved details of the upcoming device.

google-nexus-5

It’s here that the almost incessant stream of rumors and leaks has come as a savior and has provided us with an inkling of what to expect. So among the things that we are pretty much sure of with the next Nexus is that it’s going to be made by LG and that it is going to be powered by the Snapdragon 800 chip. Further, it’s going to have a full HD display (almost a norm with all high end smartphones) along with an 8 mp camera along the rear.

Recent leaks have also pointed out that Google might have two different version of the Nexus 5 up for sale, each characterized by a specific internal memory option and battery size. The base version is expected to come with a 2300mAh battery along with 16 GB of storage. The version on top of this will offer 32 GB of storage and a higher capacity 3000mAh battery.

As for the cost of the device, the Nexus 5 range is likely to start off with the same $299 price tag which is the same as its predecessor. This in spite of it offering twice the memory as the current version what starts at 8 GB. Similarly, the 32 GB version is expected to cost $399.

Meanwhile, in an interesting turn of events, a Japanese retailer Gekko & Co has already started with the pre-order process for the new Nexus 5 with the delivery date mentioned as Nov 14. Now the Nexus 4 was launched on Nov 13, 2012 which does make the Nov 14 launch date for Nexus 5 a bit authentic. A mid-Nov launch will also be just perfect to add to the shopping frenzy though what also has to be kept in mind is that perhaps none has ever known Gekko & Co to be associated with an accurate product in the past.

Google Nexus 5 vs Apple iPhone 5S – Deciding Before Release Date is Not easy

October 2, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

The iPhone 5S which released along with iPhone 5C is doing well in the markets. The iPhone 5S is definitely a phone that should be purchased. However, there are other powerful phones like Galaxy s4 which will make it quite tough to make a decision. Some of the phones that are soon to arrive and expected to give good competition to iPhone 5S include Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Google Nexus 5 and HTC One Max. However, among these LG Nexus 5 seems to be a real competitor for iOS 7 powered iPhone 5S.

iphone_5S

The iPhone 5S has become so popular that stocks have exhausted and Apple is planning to supply new devices. On the other side, the iPhone 5C is not doing that well in US. However, the phone was built to target Asian markets. In the forthcoming weeks, we will be able to learn about the same.

The iPhone 5S is an upgraded version of the discontinued iPhone 5. Hence, many of the features like display and its speculations are same as the predecessor model. The device is powered with A7 64bit processor. It is the first time a 64bit chip is used to power a smartphone. It houses an upgraded iSight camera. The iPhone 5S is available in various color options like gold, silver and white. However, the main feature is definitely the fingerprint scanner. It brings an added security feature which makes it possible for users to authenticate logins through fingerprint and frees from the hassle of entering login credentials manually.

Thus, the iPhone 5S is a fabulous device which is the reason there is great demand for it. Well, now let us talk about one of the major competitors of iPhone 5S. In the previous, the iPhone 5 and Google Nexus 4 ruled the smartphone world when they were released. Now, the iPhone 5S has got a huge chunk of customers under its belt in US. However, since it is going to get some serious competition from Google Nexus 5.

If you have not purchased the iPhone 5S, we advise you to wait a month or so because very soon the Nexus 5 is going to arrive. The Google Nexus 5 has been in the news since couple of months. However, very soon the handset will be launched. Like the iPhone 5S came out with a swanky new iOS7, even the Nexus 5 will be blessed with the all new Android 4.4 KitKat OS. The features of the new Android upgrade have not been revealed yet. However, both Android 4.4 and Nexus 5 are going to be unveiled on the same day. The expected release date is October 14. Well, Google has not confirmed anything about the two.

The iPhone 5S gold version is completely sold out and Apple is holding the supply of the gold iPhone 5S until October. The reason behind it is that may be Apple wants to give a serious competition to Nexus 5. The Nexus 5 will come out with a 4.97inch display screen which will support 1080p full HD resolution and boasts a pixel density of 443ppi.

The best thing about the Android on Nexus 5 is that Google will be offering an exclusive Vanilla version of Android 4.4 KitKat on Nexus 5. It offers connectivity features like LTE and NFC. The device is powered with Snapdragon 800 CPU and 2GB RAM. The Nexus 5 will at least offer 16GB storage space. It will come with 8MP camera at the rear and 1.2MP at the front.

The FCC filings of Nexus 5 reveal that the device will be made available only on T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint. At the moment, the device is not going to support Verizon’s network. One of the major things that will help customers decide between the two is the price factor. Well, the Nexus 5 is expected to come out with lower price tag.

The unlocked version of iPhone 5S can be purchased for 650USD. Well, it does seems to be an expensive price tag. The price of Google Nexus 5 has not been announced yet but we feel that Google will keep it low like it has always done. The unlocked version of Nexus 5 is expected to be available for $299 or $399. Again, if you haven’t purchased the Apple iPhone 5S, we suggest you to wait little more and then when the Nexus 5 gets released, you can compare the specs and price of the two phones and then take a calculated decision.

What do you think about the Nexus 5? Will it be able to thwart iPhone 5S sales and popularity? Do share your views in the comments section.

Google Nexus 5 Before Picking On The iPhone 5s

October 1, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

Though yet in line for release, the Nexus 5 from Google is something that people would be wise enough to wait for and check out. As it is the Nexus 5 is scheduled to come in just a few weeks from now. This is specially so as the iPhone 5s has caused quite some excited movement in the market and consumers have been rushing to get their unit of the iPhone 5s. So much so that the stock has gone to near zero and people are waiting for recommencement of the shipments.

iPhone 5s Nexus 5

As for reasons to wait for the new Nexus 5 to emerge from the shadows, there are plenty. The Nexus 4 did not have LTE connectivity to it though that is posed for a change with the Nexus 5. That apart, the new Nexus is expected to come with features such as a high resolution display and a good camera. The OS which is going to be Android 4.4 KitKat also has all the advanced features that the iPhone 5s boasts of running the new iOS 7.

So in just a few weeks’ time, users would be able to compare the Nexus 5 in real against the iPhone 5s. At the price which Apple have tagged their iPhone 5s, Google for sure would be putting up their Nexus 5 at a very competitive price range. There is expectation that the Nexus 5 would range between $299 to $399 for the top of the line models. Compare that to the $650 for the iPhone 5s and it would be good enough reason to wait for that few extra weeks for the Nexus 5 to arrive.

Even for those who wish to finally go for the iPhone 5s, the comparison would bring in that extra bit of satisfaction of having picked up a better set, after having seen the Nexus 5. There would for sure be those hard core iPhone 5s followers who would not see anything better in any other device, including the Nexus 5.

Google Nexus 5 with Android 4.4 KitKat Rumored to Arrive on October 14

September 30, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

Google Nexus 5 is expected to arrive very soon. It will be powered with the new Android 4.4 KitKat. The Nexus 5 is expected to arrive on October 14th. Even though the news about Google Nexus 5’s release with Android 4.4 KitKat has not been officially confirmed by Google, rumors about Nexus 5 are getting hotter day by day.

This time around a log file revealed that Nexus 5 is running on Android 4.4 KitKat. Both of them have been in the news since several weeks. Although there has not been official confirmation on the next Nexus smartphone, tech blogs are using ‘Nexus 5’ name for the same. Also, it is heavily rumored that the next Nexus 5 will be an LG device which is also yet to be confirmed by Google.

We have added the photos of the log file that we are talking about. These details clearly indicate the Nexus 5 is coming with Android 4.4 KitKat. Well, tech enthusiasts know it pretty well that Google always releases the newest version of Android exclusively on its Nexus devices.

nexus52- nexus54-

The Google Nexus 4 has been discontinued after the stocks of the said device got over. The October 14th release date seems quite true. However, the only thing that is remaining is some sort of announcement from Google’s end.

The log file indicates Android 4.4 KitKat which was previously rumored to have the Key Lime Pie name. The new Android upgrade will be running on a device that has a code name of ‘Hammerhead’. Well, speculations reveal that the said device is nothing but the LG D820. This is the model number of the expected LG Nexus 5.

kitkatnexus5-

The log file also shows that the said device will be running on T-Mobile’s network. Google has been rumored to be working on a new messaging application called Google Babel. Even the new service can be seen on the log file. This new feature is expected to arrive on Android 4.4 KitKat. As of now, Google has not revealed anything on the features of Android 4.4 KitKat.

The LG Nexus 5 is going to sport a 5inch display that supports full HD 1080p resolution. Like many of the contemporary rival devices, even the Nexus 5 will come with Snapdragon 800 CPU. It has got 13MP camera onboard. The design of the device is expected to similar to that of Nexus 7 tablet which is an Asus product.

The Android 4.4 KitKat will come with new features like screen resizing, Miracast updates, notification widgets, revamped appeal and so on. The Nexus 5 is going to replace the older Nexus. The Android 4.4 KitKat will replace the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The Android 4.3 which was released in July this year has still not arrived on many of the smartphones. Rumor has it that Android 4.4 KitKat will be made available to older Android devices as well.

Google Nexus 5 Rumored Features LTE AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Camera and More Inside

September 29, 2013 By Troy Rubenson 1 Comment

After the stock of Nexus 4 got over at many  of the retail outlets, Google hasn’t issued supply of new Nexus 4 units. This has been cited as clear indication of Nexus 5 arrival by the tech world. The Nexus 4 has been official discontinued and the successor device is dubbed as Nexus 5. So, if Google releases the Nexus 5 soon, it will find itself competing with the likes of iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, HTC One and so on.

Each year Google releases new Nexus smartphone and what’s special about Google smartphones is that the search engine giant exclusively brings the next Android release on it. The version of the Android which is exclusively made available on Nexus smartphones is called vanilla Android which cannot be found on any other smartphones.

The first Nexus smartphone was an HTC device, then followed Samsung Nexus S and Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Last year’s smartphone was LG Nexus 4. The Nexus 4 was a non-LTE device that came with HD display, great camera, fast quad-core CPU, vanilla Android 4.2 and more importantly an affordable price tag. The unlocked version was available for 349USD.

The price was one major factor that helped Nexus to achieve great popularity. Such was the popularity of the phone that Nexus 4 units were sold out twice and until February the phone was not easily acquirable. In 2013, the Nexus 4 continued to be one of the best smartphones of the year.

The popularity of Nexus 4 rose even more this year when Google lowered the price of the device by 100USD. The 8GB Nexus 4 variant was available for 199USD and the 32GB variant was available for 249USD. Apple could not compete with such a low price tag. The 16GB iPhone 5 continued to remain at 650USD.

nexus5

Nexus 5 is rumored to arrive in the fourth quarter of the year. Some have even specifically predicted the Oct 14 release date. Also, Google had recently announced Android 4.4 KitKat. So, it seems very likely that very soon Nexus 5 will arrive with Android 4.4 KitKat onboard. Although all rumors point towards an LG product, some rumors also indicate that the next Nexus device could even be a Motorola device.

Google Nexus 5 Design

Every year Google rolls out Nexus smartphones with new design. For instance, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was entirely made of plastic; however, the Nexus 4 came with plastic at the front and a delicate glass at the rear. The device appeared quite similar to iPhone 4S. So, we can expect a newly designed Nexus 5 this year. Some feel that the Nexus 5 design will be inspired from Asus Nexus 7 tablet. We have got a leaked photo of the possible Nexus 5 handset.

Nexus 5 Display
The Nexus 5 is rumored to come with a 5inch full HD display that will support 1080 pixel resolution. Recently, Google had leaked a video which featured a new Nexus smartphone with Android 4.4 KitKat. The device appeared to feature a display that was similar to that of Nexus 4. If you go the by the Nexus device that was shown in the video, we may not see any change in the size this year.

Nexus 5 Camera

If you had seen the infamous Android 4.4 KitKat, you would have also noticed that the device featured a larger camera sensor slotted at the top corner. The predecessor model had 8MP camera and according to the leaks, Google plans to offer an enhanced camera on the next Nexus smartphone. According to the rumor coming from FCC filing, the Nexus 5 may feature a 13MP camera which is the same one that is seated on LG G2.

Nexus 5 Specifications
The rumored has spurned after the device underwent FCC filing shows that the next Nexus device is an LG product with a model number LG D820. Rumors have it that it will come with a non-removable battery and there won’t be any external storage onboard.

Nexus-5-Battery

The Nexus 5 will be available in two formats namely 16GB and 32GB. The FCC filing also indicate that this time around, Google will pack in a powerful 2300mAh battery on Nexus 5. It will be powered with Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor which is the same process that powers up Galaxy Note 3.

It is quite understandable that Google will release the Nexus 5 with the new Android 4.4 KitKat. The said Android is expected to arrive in October which is presumed to be the same time when the next Nexus smartphone will arrive. Also the FCC filing of the suspected Nexus 5 indicates it will be running on Android 4.4

What Will be the Next Nexus Smartphone Called?
Well, all rumors are using ‘Nexus 5’ as the term to talk about the next Nexus smartphone. However, the official name of the product has not been announced yet by Google. Google released a successor unit for the Nexus 7 tablet year. However, they decided to keep the same name for this year’s 7inch tablet.

Carrier Support
According to the rumors from FCC filing, the LG D820 will be supporting LTE connectivity through AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. It did not mention anything about Verizon.

Apple iPhone 5S vs Google Nexus 5 – The Soon to Occur Smartphone War

September 27, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

iPhone 5S which was unveiled on Sept 10 went on sale from Sept 20. The flagship device that released recently has replaced the discontinued iPhone 5. Google has also discontinued the supply of Nexus 4 and it is going to soon launch the replacement device, the Google Nexus 5.In the previous, plenty of good smartphones like Galaxy Note 2, HTC One X, Galaxy S3 and others were released but the iPhone 5 and Nexus 4 remained cut above the rest.

The iPhone 5 came out with much needed upgrades like glass and aluminum body. It also came with 4inch Retina Display and provided a new feature called Lightning dock. It was also the first iPhone to support LTE connectivity. The Nexus 4 did not offer LTE connectivity. However, it came with a powerful vanilla version of Android. The best thing about the Nexus 4 was that it came with an inexpensive price tag.

LG-Nexus-5-live

The iPhone 5S which came out on sale on 20th September was not made available for pre-order. This meant iPhone lovers had to eagerly wait for the day to arrive and reach the retail stores early to purchase the swanky new iPhone 5S. Well, Apple is currently not offering the gold iPhone 5S yet. It plans to sell the gold colored handset some time during October or November which may be the time Nexus 5 will make its entry into the market. According to the leaks, the Nexus 5 is going to arrive on Oct 14 with the new Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

Design
The iPhone 5S display is nothing special if you already know how the display of original iPhone 5 is. It comes with glass and aluminum exterior. It is 7.6mm thin and weighs 112g. Well, as of now nothing much has been revealed by Google but the Nexus smartphone. According to rumors, the device is expected to feature plastic body like Nexus 4 and its appearance is going to be like Nexus 7.

Display
Apple iPhone 5S has got same display that is present on iPhone 5. It is a 4inch Retina Display with a screen resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels with 326ppi. It offers 16:9 aspect ratio. Google Nexus 5 is rumored to feature a larger display of about 5inches and is expected to offer full HD 1080p resolution.

Camera
iPhone 5S has got an enhanced 8MP iSight camera as it comes with larger sensor. It is coupled with f/2.2 aperture which makes it possible to snap high quality photos by producing more light for taking snaps in low lighting conditions. It also allows you to do slow-motion video recording and shoots photos with natural colors. Again, nothing much has been known about Nexus 5 camera but according to FCC filing, it seems that it will feature a 13MP camera. It is rumored to feature optical image stabilization.

Hardware
The iPhone 5S is powered with 64bit A7 CPU. Also, the device is available in three storage variants namely, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. It comes with an external storage. You can install a new battery on the handset because its back is not removable. The USP of the iPhone 5S is the fingerprint reader which is placed beneath the Home button. The Touch ID fingerprint sensor offers topnotch security which makes it possible for users to perform authentication through fingerprint without the need of entering login credentials.

Google Nexus 5 is not rumored to feature a special like fingerprint sensor but will be available in two storage variants namely 8GB and 16GB or 16GB and 32GB. FCC filing of the rumored Nexus 5 smartphone revealed that the handset is an LG product with model number D820. It does not come with expansion slot for memory card and its back cover is non-removable like iPhone 5S.

Software
iPhone 5S runs on the new revamped iOS7 which was recently revealed for other iDevices like iPad and iPod Touch [5th gen]. It comes with couple of new features like Air Drop and Control Center. The Nexus 5 is heavily rumored to arrive with the new Android 4.4 KitKat OS. It will offer new features like screen resizing and Mircast updates.

Carrier Support
iPhone 5S is available on all major leading carriers in US. Soon, C Spire Wireless and US Cellular will launch the iPhone 5S on their networks. According to FCC filing, the Nexus 5 will support AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. The leak did not reveal support for Verizon’s network.

Pricing
Apple iPhone 5S is available on a contract price of 200USD for 16GB variant. Without contract, the iPhone 5S can be purchased for 650USD. The Nexus 5 price has not been officially announced but its pricing will fall in the midrange price category. Google will definitely offer the unlocked Google Nexus 5 at an attractive low price.

Google Nexus 5 Release Date Rumored to Launch On October 14

September 23, 2013 By Jack M. Robinson Leave a Comment

One of the biggest Nexus 5 rumors doing the rounds right now is that release date is going to happen on October 14. There has been enough talk of the next device in the Nexus series of smartphones which man are claiming will also serve as the launch device of latest Android version, Android 4.4 KitKat. While several of the key specifications of the device have emerged online, the exact processor that is going to power the device is not yet known officially. Even the FCC listing of the device did not specify this aspect.

Nexus-5

Specifications of the device for those who missed it out earlier speak of a 4.96 inch display with LTE support and Bluetooth 4.0. It would have Qi wireless charging capability too. While the length and width of the device has been defined to be 131.9 mm and 68.2 mm respectively the thickness of the handset has not been detailed till now.

The reason for October 14 release date for Nexus 5 that is reported to carry the codename Hammerhead has a few linked logic to it. For one, Nexus 4 had been launched last year at around the same time. There is also the issue of Google launching their latest Android OS the KitKat on October 14. The new OS would most logically come riding on a new gadget too. Nexus 5 is the only Google gadget that is in the offing. Another factor that does serve as a strong indicator of a new Nexus being in the offing is that Google has sold out of existing Nexus 4 stocks. And the company is showing no signs of replenishing it either.

The company to make the Nexus 5 gadget is in all probability LG. They had done a very good job with the Nexus 4 and therefore no reason for Google to consider any other maker. In that case the probability of the Nexus 5 bearing a close resemblance to the G2 handset from LG is once again a very logical conclusion.

For anxious consumers, the first week of October should be the time when all these speculations are likely to be converted into reality. For that is when Google would be sending out invites, if the date of 14 October has any real value, that is.

Android 4.4 KitKat – New Update Confirmed to Arrive on Nexus 5

September 23, 2013 By Troy Rubenson Leave a Comment

Google surprised the tech world by announcing the arrival of a new Android version – 4.4 KitKat. It was in July that Android 4.3 was rolled out. The update was not a major one and is still to be made available on many smartphones. And now comes new rumor on Android 4.4 KitKat. Google has not disclosed anything on the official release date and features of the Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

android 4.4 kitkat

It was only just before the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 had arrived officially, Google proclaimed about the new Android upgrade i.e. v4.4 KitKat which will arrive sometime in the future. Google has published a splash page which also shows you Nestle product on it.

According to the rumors, the Android v4.4 KitKat is expected to come out in October. Another major rumor that is spreading like wild fire is that Google is planning to replace the Nexus 4 with the new Nexus 5 and the handset is expected to be equipped with Android v4.4 KitKat. So, October 14 is believed to be the announcement date of Nexus 5 and it is the same day when the world will come to know details on v4.4 KitKat officially.

There is one mobile manufacturing company that has already announced the arrival of the update coming to one of its phone. We are talking about the Pantech brand which manufactures Android smartphones. Pantech has confirmed that it will be making the Android 4.4 KitKat available for its Vega Iron smartphone. Pantech had released this information through a tweet made through the official Twitter account.

Those have seen Pantech’s tweet confirms that the company did not mention any date but only claimed that the 4.4 Android update will be made available in the future for Vega Iron users. By this, we can say that the Vega Iron is the first handset to confirm to get the new Android update.

Other mobile brands have not spoken anything about making the update available for its phones since the update has itself not released yet.  Well-known brands will not hurry in announcing it yet. They will rather wait for Google to official release the update and then it will take even more time as they will start working on finding out which devices will get the v4.4 KitKat update and when.

As we said before, many devices are still stuck on Android 4.2 like Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3. They are yet to receive Android v4.3 update. It is only when they are updated to Android v4.3; they stand to receive the Android 4.4 KitKat. Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 are supposed to receive Android 4.3 update in October. It is also speculated that some devices directly receive the v4.4 update by skipping out on Android 4.3.

It is been quite a tradition to only see the Google Nexus devices get the Android update first. Though Pantech has announced Android 4.4 update, we feel that the upgrade will be first made available on Nexus 5. Also, it will be made available first on other Nexus devices as well like the Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7.
