The Samsung Galaxy S4 is still fresh in the market though its next flagship, the Galaxy S5 is already making its presence felt. This, in spite of the fact that it won’t be before April 2014 before we can expect the Galaxy S5 hitting the streets worldwide. It’s not that the S4 is not a beautiful piece of hardware though it’s not without its share of shortcoming. The prime grouse against the S4 has been its built quality with consumers accusing Samsung of having used cheap plastics for making the device. This assumes greater significance given its HTC counterpart, the One boasting a far better built quality. Under the circumstances, perhaps it won’t be a bad idea of going through what the next Samsung flagship, the S5 is expected to be like.
To begin with, the S5 will be seen running Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie which should surely be out by first half of 2014. The S5 is also rumored to feature an even better 16 mp camera at the rear while a 2 mp camera at the front will allows for video chats. While it’s not known what sort of a chip will be powering the new Galaxy S5, what seems likely is that the device will benefit from a 4 GB RAM. Similarly, the S5 is also rumored to come with a whooping 128 GB of internal storage. And just in case if that too is not enough, there will also be micro sc card support as well. In fact, some sources have even pointed out Samsung might go for twin micro sd card slot to ensure there will always be enough memory available to take care of all your storage needs. Coming to its display, most are likely to bet on a 5 inch AMOLED edge to edge screen.
And as for its construction, rumor has it that Samsung is considering doing that using carbon fiber. The benefits of carb fiber are already well know, that of a super durability without there being a weight penalty. Aluminum is also being talked about in some quarters as Samsung’s preferred material to bild its next flagship device.
However, we have to wait for some more months to arrive at a clearer picture.
