Hangouts Gets To Version 11, Video Sending Enabled On Android

July 13, 2016 By Deborah Cobing Leave a Comment

Hangouts is being updated to its 11th version.

Hangouts for Android finally gets the 2-year-old iOS feature.

STATES CHRONICLE – Google’s own messaging apps, Hangouts, will soon be receiving a Play Store update that will let the user send and receive up to one minute of video.

The update will finally enable the feature to Android users. In February 2014, Hangouts for iOS was the first version of the app to add the feature, although it only allowed the recording and sending of videos that were up to ten seconds long.

The app then received an updated which enabled the recording and sending of videos that were up to one minute long, one month later in March.

Google was recently accused of making better versions of its apps for the iOS rather than for its own OS, Android. As a response, it appears that the company will be trying to make amends and bring out updates whenever possible.

Videos on Hangouts for Android, although two years late, will be supporting resolutions of up to 1080p. Videos on Hangouts for iOS currently support resolutions of up to only 360p, although after the latest update can be up to 2 minutes long.

A contrast between quality and quantity is starting to be visible between the two versions, at least until they will all share the same features.

Hangouts Version 11

To send a video to a Hangouts contact, users will have the option of live-recording an up to one-minute-long video with the app or choosing an already existing video from the on-board storage of the device. All video features will be accessible through the button next to the images features button on the chat bar.

With version 11, Hangouts will no longer support the merged view between SMS and conversations with the same contact. Google stated that users found the feature to be confusing and that it did not see much use. The feature has been entirely removed.

Nevertheless, version 11 will let any user present in a group remove another user. This is a big step forward in regards to group moderation on Hangouts, as those features are greatly lacking.

Finally, the patch includes a fix for square cropping of images and for static GIFs.

Hangouts v11 will be rolling out to the Google Play Store in the following days, so if your Android device does not automatically update, the app will be available for manual download soon.

The New Cinamatic App Allows You to Add Era-Inspired Effects to Videos

May 12, 2014 By Janet Vasquez Leave a Comment

cinamatic appEverybody is a visual artist and a movie director deep down inside and this theory is widely proved by the millions of Instagram and Vine videos roaming around the Internet. But how many high quality effects can you add to an Instagram or Vine video? Not enough would answer the creators of the new Cinamatic app, an iOS – bound app that allows the user to record a 15 seconds video in the easiest way possible and then add to it era – inspired effects to make the video look and feel real, give it authenticity, atmosphere and class.

The new Cinamatic app was developed by the same creative people behind the Hipstamatic and came out of a need to have more retro – enhanced videos inspired by all major film eras. According to the specialists, the new Cinamatic app goes beyond the specs featured by Instagram and Vine (which also allow users to add filters and create vintage – like videos) because it gives the user a wide array of choices, including

animation, reflections, built-in glitches, and movie splotches

The final product is a .mov file you can share or not, it’s your call.

While Instagram’s square photos with retro feelings were themselves inspired by Hipstamatic, the developers of the Cinamatic don’t feel threatened by the two social platforms, nor feel they are in a competition. In comparison with Instagram and Vine, the new Cinamatic app is not a social network per se, but a tool dedicated to artists who want to give a soul to their videos. To prove this, any user can share their film – era inspired videos via Instagram, Vine or Facebook.

The app is easy and quite intuitive to use and it doesn’t need the user’s login information, emphasizing on the difference between the app and the more famous social networks we mentioned before. With a simple tap, you can start recording a video and can stop anytime they want – anywhere 3 and 15 seconds, that it. After you are satisfied with the filmed result, the real creative process begins: the app will take you to its page featuring 5 basic movie era – inspired filters (but of course, you can buy more). You can test each filter and choose the one that suits best your idea, while specialists recommend you to check each layer before deciding saving and sharing your masterpiece with the world. In case you wondered, the filters don’t just wash away some colors or add some lights here and there, but they indeed change in an original and beautiful manner the entire atmosphere and feeling of your short film.

The new Cinamatic app costs $1.99, while all the other available filters are $0.99 a piece. Quite affordable for an artist still looking for that old movies nostalgia and trying to recreate a retro atmosphere even for a 15 seconds long video.

LG’s G Flex smartphone device is a unique development with its curved shape that conforms to the curve of the face of the user as also the back pocket to make carrying the phone easier. The smartphone also lives up to its name G Flex owing to the flexible factor it has to it. No wonder the device that is yet to come into public domain is already creating waves in tech circles worldwide. However, properties of a real smartphone device that makes it to actually bend is something that is to be seen to be believed. The phone also has a feature that helps it to recover from accidental scratch marks on its back cover. That means not only accidental pressure actions but also scotching action would be nullified by the devices inherent recouping power. Quite a magical effect it all would be when the phone breaks out of its virtual state to the real life state.@evleaks has given additional information regarding AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint taking on the LG G Flex when it is released. @evleaks has been quite consistent about their information and therefore this one also appears to be quite authentic.

For those who may not have read this part, the specs of the LG G Flex is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor at its core. It would have RAM of 2 GB. The 6 inch screen is based on OLED technology and resolution of 1280 x 720 p. The device would have dual camera, where the front would be of 2.1 MP and rear 13 MP.
