Remember the enthusiasm we shared with you when writing about the new updates coming to the XBOX One? Last month, the XBOX One console developers announced with fireworks cracking a lot of goodies to be available to fans starting June this year.
The major update is, without a doubt, the possibility to use external storage devices. However, fans were pretty pleased to learn that Netflix and a wealth of new entertainment apps would become available even for non – Gold members, together with the opportunity to use the Real Name feature.
Microsoft is racing up and stepping up its game, as new announcements were rolled out via the XBOX Wire and they include a new and improved menu of entertainment apps to be accessible in the immediate future. The list of goodies counts more than 45 entertainment apps and an incredible array of features that are meant to hook the fans to the XBOX One console forever and for good.
The highlight of the day is, undoubtedly, the Twitter and Vine integration into the XBOX One console:
“Xbox fans are spending more time than ever on the console, spending more than five hours a day on Xbox One,” said Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President, Devices and Studios at Microsoft. “Today as we announce new commitments from dozens of our partners, including deep integration with experiences like Twitter and Vine, we hit an important milestone in our journey to deliver unique experiences on Xbox. We’re thrilled to break new ground in social TV experiences like we’re doing with Twitter on Xbox One.”
Several Xbox 360 apps will make their way to Xbox One, including HBO GO and Major League Gaming. Microsoft’s latest console will receive iHeartRadio, GoPro, Target Ticket and Starz Play, while the Xbox 360 is getting apps such as FXNOW, Picturebox and ShowTime Anytime.
And this is just the beginning. We are only a few days away from the E3 event, a show that Microsoft wants to run in full glory. Besides the impressive list of apps and features you can consult on the XBOX Wire site, the developers seem to prepare us for more mind – blowing novelties related to the XBOX One console and the XBOX 360.
Tech journalists all over the world are truly impressed with the Twitter app integration and they just can’t wait for the big E3 event. So stay tuned and wait for the news coverage. In the mean time, check on your XBOX One updates and enjoy all the entertainment you get!
