STATES CHRONICLE – There has been designed a new IVF device meant to help couples with its estimations regarding their wish of having a baby. Previously, many IVF clinics were not able to determine whether a pair is healthy and prepared to conceive a child. To establish this, they needed to undergo treatment for the couple. This revolutionary device is prone to calculate the success rates of couples without implying the first IVF cycle.
Every couple who comes to IVF clinics wants to find out if the treatments they will take will develop into successful results. Specialists argued that the success of the treatment depends on the problems, varying between 20 percent and 50 percent. Although, there is no IVF expert will ever share such estimations without conducting the first cycle, being able to determine the quality of the sperm, the eggs, and the embryos.
Nowadays, a team of scientists from the University of Aberdeen led by David McLernon has argued that the new technology developed a new method to establish the results of the IVF without implementing the first cycle. McLernon together with his team has analyzed the information from the Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority (HFEA). HFEA is bound to collect information from all IVF clinics in the UK.
The data included information about 113,873 women, thus providing details on 118,000 cycles which have taken place at IVF clinics. The study provided data about the number of eggs which were produced, the figures which indicated the fertilized ones, as well as the number of births. According to the bulk of information gathered, scientists have related particular features which were related to higher success for conceiving a baby.
The important details which were bound to influence the results of the IVF test were the age of women, the figure indicating how many eggs prevailed and whether they were used when frozen. The conclusion established that the higher was the number of eggs developed in an IVF cycle, the greater were the chances to conceive a baby. The IVF device is prone to be extremely useful for couples who undergone IVF.
McLernon claimed that the new device would boost couples’ confidence, shaping their expectations. However, he also asserted that the device is not perfect because it does not consider lifestyle factors or BMI.
