About a week passed since a racist video footage went viral online on social networking platforms. The feature showed students from a University of Oklahoma frat who were singing discriminating tunes. That news hasn’t even went cold that an email from a University of Maryland frat has also surfaced stacked with sexist, bigot and even criminal language. The email was composed about six months ago in 2014. It was read by the University of Maryland leadership for the first time this week.
The revolting email comprises of racial slurs regarding Asian and Indian women. It additionally incites rape. An individual from the Kappa Sigma frat sent the email to six different understudies.
The piece read:
“Regardless of the rush shirt let’s get rachet as f*** during rush week. My d**k will be sucked and f***ed in compound basement whether you guys like it or not. Don’t invite any n****r gals or curry monsters or slanted eye chinks, unless they’re hot. Ziggy you’re [sic] girl can come she’s cool. Remember my n***as, erect, assert, and insert, and above all else, f*** consent … d**ks untouched.”
Wallace Loh, the president of the University of Maryland noted in an an announcement that was discharged on Thursday evening that the email was and act of obscenity. He said that it depicts perspectives that are unacceptable for the community in the student’s campus. Loh stated:
“We immediately met with the individual involved, and a university investigation is currently underway.”
The professor likewise discussed the issue with the fraternity. He included that they have taken quick and determined action in the matter. Furthermore, Loh noted that the frat has went so far as to demand instructive training on respect for the whole crew.
Kappa Sigma’s chief of PR, Derald Dryman, declared:
“Kappa Sigma Fraternity was just made aware of an email sent some 14 months ago by a University of Maryland student to six other individuals containing racially and sexually suggestive language. At the time of the incident, this individual was an undergraduate member of Kappa Sigma.”
Kappa Sigma’s national leaders reported that the understudy was promptly suspended from the local branch and was under examination. He afterwards resigned from Kappa Sigma and the fraternity is working to officially remove him from the association.
