The Verizon and HTC One hide-n-seek saga continues, it seems. It was Viva Movil that Verizon and Jennifer Lopez launched at the well attended and much awaited CITA event in Las Vegas. So far as the tech geeks go, yesterday’s event had the focus on Verizon who were expected to launch their HTC One as well as its VoLTE network. Verizon remained suspiciously silent on both. Consumer frustration turned visibly high at the end of the event and some has even begun to doubt if the HTC One does actually exist in Verizon’s future devices list.
Hopes that the device would be launched soon come from a leakster @LLabTooFeR, specializing in tracking HTC and their products. Information from the leakster does not however yet mention any date or time. Other devices that would compete with the HTC One have already hit the shelves or officially confirmed to be available at fixed dates. This includes the likes of Samsung Galaxy S4, with Galaxy Note 3 and iPhone 5S expected in the fall. No way another smart device can’t be accommodated in this list. There is also the possibility of the HTC Butterfly 2 coming in which is supposed to be launched by the third quarter of this year. This could happen if Verizon does not consider the HTC One to be suitable for the market right now.
One other logical thinking that could be applied is that it could be June for the HTC One to finally arrive in Verizon colors. This was what the early rumors had been contemplating, of its launch being a month or so after the others. It was late April that other HTC One models came to the US market. Calculating with that as the base time, the month of June seems quite possible. The only way to confirm is to hope for the leakster who seems to have access to inside information to be authentic and therefore wait for the predictions to come true.
