STATES CHRONICLE – A new entry on the market, as Xiaomi’s Mi Band Pulse fitness tracker goes for $15, which makes it incredibly affordable compared with its competition. Then again, the company has become well known for providing their customers with decent, well-functioning, and relatively cheap devices.
Before Apple stepped into the market of fitness trackers, Xiaomi was only second in the world behind Fitbit. Now, it’s the world’s second largest seller, and within the first top 3 worldwide. It has been long expected and anticipated for them to release a new, possibly improved product. And now, it’s been confirmed.
Xiamo’s second fitness tracker, Mi Band Pulse, is an updated version of the Mi Band. Additionally, it includes the popular feature of heart monitoring, which has proved itself to be the decider among potential customers. It’s implementation is an improvement on the previous model, along with a few other minute details.
For one, Mi Band Pulse will achieve all the numerous functions most have grown accustomed to. It will be strapped to your wrist, synched to your phone, and arrive with limited control. It will include the usual steps tracker, sleeping patterns, notifications, and essentially do everything the former Mi Band did. With one notable addition.
Mi Band Pulse will be tracking your heart rate. This will add half a gram more to its weight, bringing it to a total of 13.5g, which is basically weightless. It’s roughly the same size, so users should not feel much of a difference. The new version of the fitness tracker coming from Xiaomi is also water-resistant, which means it can last for around 30 minutes at depths of 3 feet.
While it took a while for the first model to synch perfectly with all operating systems, the company claims that it will work both with Android 4.4 or later, and iOS 7.0 or later versions. It seems that the company have addressed some of the flaws of their previous model. And, perhaps unsurprisingly, they have kept the trend of very affordable devices.
While the price for Mi Band has been cut down to $11, the upcoming Mi Band Pulse will arrive for around $15, which is still cheaper than most its competition. Considering its new heart-monitoring functions, it’s far more affordable, and now keeping up with the demands of their customers.
However, those interested in trying out the new fitness tracker might have to wait. The new Mi Band Pulse will launch in China on November 11th, and international dates have not been confirmed yet. It’s expected that it will release in the U.S. as well, but unknown when.
