Specialists unveil 10 symptoms which will help anyone reveal dementia.

STATES CHRONICLE – Specialists publish the most common ten symptoms which will help anyone reveal dementia.  Dementia is considered to be among the most terrible diseases which cause death, even surpassing heart disease. Studies have demonstrated that last year, in Wales and England, there were registered 61,686 of dementia mortality. This outrageous number equals 11.6% of the population in these areas.

The research developed by the Office for National Statistics have proved that this high number is registered due to the aging population which is constantly rising. Dementia installs in the body when the patient had previously suffered a series of strokes or was affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Apparently, dementia develops in people older than 65, being more predominant in women.

The most significant signs which will indicate dementia were listed by specialists. One of the symptoms is communicating impairment. The patient affected by dementia will struggle to find the proper words to communicate. The conversations with the patient can become a burden. Caregivers need to be very patient.

Another symptom can be the alteration of the patient’s personality. Mood swings are characteristics to dementia. Memory loss constitutes another sign which will help you reveal dementia. Although you will notice only subtle changes regarding the person’s short-term memory, this could be considered an early stage of the disease. The person suffering from this illness may be able to remember events from years ago, but he or she will not be able to recall what they did that day.

These persons may also experience difficulties in accomplishing easy tasks. They will be unable to count the amount of money have, or they will not succeed in learning how to play a game. Listlessness is another early symptom of the disease. During this stage of the illness, patients may suffer a loss of interest when it comes to hobbies or spends time with family or friends.

The people affected by the disease will be unable to follow a new routine, finding it tough to learn new things. They will develop a fear of change, being terrified by new experiences. They may usually feel confused, losing personal things or forgetting the familiar faces. Because of judgment and thinking impairment, one may be confused.

Patients who have dementia will struggle to remember the meaning of simple words. They may also be unable to follow instructions given step-by-step. All these indications may help anyone reveal dementia, knowing how to behave in front of a dementia patient.
