The giant retailer announced on Wednesday that the company will start shipping the Amazon Fire TV stick to those who pre-ordered it.
The Amazon Fire TV stick was revealed last month and it can be plugged into HDMI port on any TV and it offers access to TV shows, latest movies, photos, music, apps and plenty of games. Some of the popular streaming services available with the Amazon Fire TV stick include Netflix, Hulu Plus, Prime Instant Video, WatchESPN, Twitch, NBA Game Time, Showtime Anytime, Spotify, Prime Music, Vevo, Pandora, Plex, A&E, PBS Kids, PBS, YouTube and Watch Disney.
The users can also purchase or rent more than 200,000 and TV shows episodes and display them on the TV from smartphones or tablet, wirelessly.
Amazon said that the Fire TV stick is the fastest-selling device so far. David Limp, Amazon devices vice president said in a statement that:
“We built a ton of these, but customer demand still outpaced our supply. We’re excited by the overwhelming customer response and the team is working hard to build more as quickly as possible.”
Initially the Amazon Fire TV stick was given to Prime members for only $19 and the device sold like hot bread in the first days after its release. That deal is no longer available and Amazon is currently selling the Amazon Fire TV stick for $39, which is still a good deal if you ask us.
Amazon Fire TV stick comes with a remote control that allows for a simple navigation and it can also be used with the free Fire TV Remote app on the Amazon Fire phone and Android phones. The new app will be available for iPhones in the near future, Amazon said.
The new Amazon Fire TV stick will be competing with Google’s Chromecast and Roku Streaming stick.
