STATES CHRONICLE – If you are dissatisfied with your smartwatch, don’t worry, because Android Wear now comes in designer watch faces.
Google has released nine new watch faces that have each been designed by a renowned fashion brand and they are available already.
The designer labels are all “iconic”, although you may not have heard of all of them. They are: Ted Baker, Melissa Joy Manning, Vivienne Tam, Nicole Miller, Y-3, Mango, Harajuku Kawaii!, Zoe Jordan, and ASICS.
They can be colorful and eye-catching or simple and elegant and you can wear them according to your different personality type. Or you can show off different aspects of your character by changing them every once in a while.
Choose something flamboyant when you’re in a playful mood and something minimal and stylish when you want to look serious. Whichever you opt for, your watch will look dandy, since all the faces are designer-made.
They are already available for Android users and can be downloaded for free from Google Play. However, it will only be available for iPhone in a few days.
Android Wear has proven rather adaptable in terms of design and has made these faces available for both round and square smartwatches.
The watch faces don’t have any new functionality, they are only meant to change the appearance of the watch. There is one exception though. The ASICS’ face counts the number of steps taken during a day and compares the result with that of the previous day.
But apart from these new models, there are some 1,500 other watch faces to choose from. This is an approximate number of the available faces for Android Wear, something Apple Watch cannot even dream about, as it has opted not to offer this feature to its customers.
With the new interest shown by TAG Heuer or Fossil in Android smartwatches, it is essential to make them look as good as it is possible. And this is exactly the intention behind this new Google feature.
