Apple is said to release a new and larger 12.9-inch iPad next year and it’s going to be amazing. Large tablets are something the world is craving more and more, as a means of replacing the laptop altogether; a while back we took a look at the interesting and promising Microsoft Surface Pro and today we’re finding out more about the 12.9-inch iPad that is set to launch in 2015.
The news took many by surprise, but of course, as it is the case with all Apple rumors, nothing has yet been confirmed or infirmed. Apple revels in the attention and we, the consumers, are craving for more information about a device that will surely be one of the best in the world.
It is believed that Apple is preparing the way for a new and improved iPad, one that will measure an impressive 12.9 inches (32.7 centimeters). The production of this new device is thought to be set to begin in the first quarter of 2015. The information was revealed by Bloomberg on Tuesday.
Apple’s iPad sales have declined in the recent months, because people are failing to replace their older iPads with the current 10-inch and 7.9-inch tablets. The reason behind this is speculated to be the high price of the devices and also the larger smartphones made by Samsung and other companies. Apple themselves are expected to launch two new iPhones during an event which is thought to happen on September 9, both larger than the current iPhone (4 inches).
The new 12.9-inch iPad is thought to be called iPad Pro:
The new iPad will have a screen measuring 12.9 inches diagonally, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the details aren’t public. Apple currently produces iPads with 9.7-inch and 7.9-inch displays. The Cupertino, California-based company has been working with suppliers for at least a year to develop a new range of larger touch-screen devices, said the people.

This is an effort from Apple’s part to shake up the line of tablets and only time will tell if it’s going to be a success. One thing’s for sure: whatever Apple does, we’re sure to hear about it before it happens.
Naturally, as expected, Apple could not be reached for comments.
