ASUS will bring AdBlock Plus to its users in 2016
STATES CHRONICLE – The internet nowadays is running our lives but it has developed an advertising disorder which makes us resent it; thankfully in 2016 ASUS devices come with AdBlock Plus.
We use internet for pretty much everything. We check out the news, buy things online, chat with friends and family, post photos and videos, watch movies, play games and the list goes on. But many of these activities we perform online are frequently interrupted by advertising.
Of course, ads are everywhere. On television, newspapers, billboards, but except from the time they interrupt our movie in TV, precisely at the most exciting moment, they don’t really disturb us otherwise. Yes, they’re everywhere and take up space and distract us but we got used to them and just let them be.
However, when it comes to internet ads, the situation is quite different. If you want to watch a video on YouTube for example you have to wait at least 5 seconds until you can skip the ad and finally enjoy the clip. Moreover, the ads can also infect your PC or mobile device with viruses that are not exactly easy to get rid of.
What we need is something to block these ads and let us enjoy in peace our time spent online. ASUS has announced that all the products which are going to be launched next year will come with built-in AdBlock Plus, a feature embedded in the browsers.
Although ASUS users are not as numerous as Samsung or Apple users, the new feature will probably attract more and more people who are looking to be freed of ads. However, the AdBlock Plus will not benefit everyone. With such features coming to the market and gaining popularity, advertising companies might be in trouble of losing a lot of income.
The fact that you see an ad benefits them and it even benefits you in a more twisted way. On long-term blocking ads could make the internet go slower, and I’m not talking about mbps but about the businesses which are online.
The benefits this type of feature can bring are still a matter of discussion and the effects will probably be clearer next year when there will be more people using AdBlock. All in all, we might lose the ads but companies might lose customers.
